NSW State League Bowling has been formed.

As of August last year NSW bowling centre's Illarwarra Strikzone, Orange, Chester Hill, Campbelltown and Bateau Bay have formed a State Bowling League where bowlers from each bowling centre can bowl in tournament free of charge.

How it works is each centre who holds there home round dosn't charge the bowlers who are bowling in each team to bowl. Which is great for bowlers to get some great tournament practise free of charge. Not only is great for bowlers it is also great for the centre's running in the State League as it creates bowler loyalty, more bowler patrionage, great team spirit and camaraderie between teams.

The format for State league is:

* There are teams of 6 bowlers 1 reserve bowler.( Reserve bowler can bowl when ever needed)

* 6 bowlers from each side will bowl 6 games of singles head to head.
* 3 doubles teams from each side will play each double pair.
* 2 teams of 3 from each side will play each trio team.

So all up ther are:

*6 games of singles
*3 games of doubles.
*2 games of trios.

Each team has one home and one away round against each team.

Anyway we are nearing to the end of this years innaugral year of State League and where looking to see if we can get some more centre's involved for next year. As this year has been very success with bowlers and centre's and would be great to have more sides in the competion.

So if your a bowler in centre not competing in State League and want to bowl in State League have a word to your centre manager and try see if you can organise a side together for next year season.

Current Standings for this year is:

Illarwarra Stikzone Storm 28
Orange Western Warriors 20
Chester Hill Cougars 16
Campbelltown Crocs 16
Bateau Bay Thunder 16

Hi ..

What scoring system is used (i.e. 1 point for singles?)

I wouldn't mind trying to get something going up here in QLD.

Spanner.

Here is the Scoring Format for NSW State League

What we have noticed this year with the format is that when it comes down to the teams event, the team that win most of the trio points end up winning the round due to the amount of points available to the team that wins, so it might need a little tweaking up for next year.

They used to have (I dont think they do anymore) the Goldpin Intercentre up here in QLD. Great initiative Belmo, hope you get some more teams.

Im sure there are plenty of ideas for points systems here on the site, dont be afraid to ask :)
