Here in Canberra I reckon we're fairly luck with our Centres. All of them are 20 mins in most cases, hang on everything is 20 mins in the ACT.
Depending on what you are practicing on will depend on what centre I'd go to.
A country challenge or an older centre. I'd go out to Queanbeyan. Oil is good early the heads break down and then the lanes become patchy so you need to find away to play an number of different shots and releases.
Tuggeranong would be a practice centre for your timing, approach and ball speed. The centre places down the most consistent lane condition. It doesnt matter what day you go in if you play on fresh oil the condition will be the same. The lane oil carries down at an even pace so you loose the snappy back ends but only have to move a couple of boards.
Woden - I like Woden because of the challenge of the condition. The Centre is a high scoring centre if you figure what line to bowl on time you are there. You always got to go in with an open mind read the lane and play lane to what you see. You cant over power the ball to try and score.
Belconnen - Another different condition. Nice oil down the middle and dry edges. Any one swinging the ball heaps may reckon the centre was too dry, if you can go from deep in side to the edge youll get enough length and a strong finish to knock down the pins. You could also find the edge of the oil and play up it, if you throw it out it will come up, if you pull it the ball will go long in the oil.
Just my simple notes on our Centres here in the ACT. Horses for courses.
I would say Queanbeyan Belconnen and Woden are 200 Par ave Centres.
Tuggeranong is a 210 -215 Par ave Centre. Only because of the new machines and strick procedures they seem to follow for their lane conditioning.
