For those who havent noticed ... with one block of matchplay to go Belmo is leading the US Open!

It's time to cross those fingers yet again guys. Jason who has already had a great season, in the US, really deserves to win what is considered to be the toughest of all the 'Majors'.

There's still a couple of games to go but he'll make it wont he?

A delayed broadcast of the final is scheduled for 9.30 am tomorrow on Fox's ESPN Channel

Watching on Xtra Frame. Belmo is throwing it great. Alas, he's playing Dan McClelland, who is also throwing it great. 4-9 off a good shot may cost him game 2. Oh! McClelland just stone 10'd. Belmo needs a double on the 4-9 lane...

Alas, he leaked it the couple of microns right required to miss in the 10th. (Probably moved about 14 angstroms left off the 4-9...)

Still in the lead, I think. Weber making a big move into the show as I type this. Would love to see Weber and Belmo play on TV. (It's every bowling kid's dream to beat Weber for the US Open!) Lot's of Critical Theory's being thrown, btw...

Weber too good with a very classy 255. Belmo still in front, although his lead is lower now. 2 guys called Duke and Weber coming home strong. Some other fellas called Barnes and O'Neill and Fagan making themselves known too. It's going to be one helluva show!

Fagan has just taken the lead with a 230-W. Jason's gone 192-L. Still a way to go. Jason's bringing out the best in folks. :) Statistically speaking, he's due for a run.

Mike and Jason are about 100 away from 3rd, currently Shafer, then Weber. Barnes is 53 off the show and Bill O'Neill and Josh Blanchard within striking distance with something good happening. Last 2 TV spots are getting really close, as they always do at the Open.

3 games and a positional round to go!

Fagan stays in front by the same 60-odd sticks. Getting very tricky out there. Lot's of 215-W kind of matches.

4th through to almost 9th can make the show (with increasing levels of miracle required as you head south) but mathematically possible.

Belmo shoots 244 -186 for Fagan. He's back in the lead!

Go you good thing!

1 Game plus positional round to go. Shafer in 3rd where he's likely to stay until the positional so he's pretty good. It's going to come down to the wire for the last spot between a heap of guys though.

By my calculations, Mike Fagan is now in the lead by 4 pins over room mate Jason Belmonte going into the position round. As so often happen in the US open, it comes down to the last game, the last shot, the last moment.

Shafer holding 3rd. Weber shoots 255 to go to 4th, Barnes 253 to go into 5th, 64 pins out of the show.

Time to pour a stiff double shot. (Espresso, that is!) :)

Rhino Page doing very well also...

Page / Barnes Match will be very interesting indeed!

Pos Name Hometown W-L-T Total +/- 200 Pins Back Average
1 Mike Fagan Dallas 15-8-0 11078 +1278 - 216.90
2 Jason Belmonte Australia 14-8-1 11074 +1274 - 217.12
3 Ryan Shafer Horseheads, N.Y. 11-12-0 10931 +1131 - 216.35
4 Pete Weber St. Ann, Mo. 13-10-0 10772 +972 - 211.88
5 Rhino Page Dade City, Fla. 14-7-2 10747 +947 -25 210.14
6 Chris Barnes Double Oak, Texas 10-13-0 10712 +912 -60 212.49
7 Osku Palermaa Finland 15-8-0 10663 +863 -109 208.43

Fagan beats Belmo 235 - 205. Both bowled great games. The pins fell Fagan's way. Pete Weber bowls 300 to score 208 (12 balls dead flush - 10 closed frames - amazing game), but 208 is enough to make the show and shoot for US Open number 5, which nobody has ever done.

Every player has a great story line. Belmo wins tomorrow and it's his first major plus he could be player of the year. Fagan wins tomorrow and he's got back to back majors and he could be player of the year. Weber wins tomorrow and he's won more US Opens than anyone. Shafer wins tomorrow and it's his first major.

Final 4 are:
Michael Fagan
Jason Belmonte
Ryan Shafer
Pete Weber

Can't wait to see this one!

Awesome effort Belmo. Tomorrow, may they fall your way.

Well done Jason (Doust that is) .. with calls like you have provided Ray warren might be in trouble when the League gets underway.

Like I said to kick off this post, fingers crossed for the other Jason. All aussie bowlers know what a win in the US Open would mean!
