Australian Open winner.

How do you hit the pocket FLUSH and leave a 2 pin......no wonder your sport is dying with such intelligent folks out there.....and Hamo...are you serious?????don't compare these clowns with profesionals....

Come on, I'm no fan of overachieving equipment, overshadowing ability, in any sport, but that's uncalled for. If you believe it's so easy, presume we'll see you in the next event, up near the top?
By the way, to Bluey, who started this thread. Good work in making the top 10 yourself. Your second day particularly good - Congrats.

Where does is say that - no-one posted anything saying they were leaving 2 pin from a flush pocket :surrender::confused::confused:

Xballs i read it somewhere on TB. I also wondered how someone could hit a "flush" pocket and leave it. A light pocket might leave it but not a flush one. Anyway its on TB soemwhere as i read it yesterday, unless someone edited their post.

The comment should read "2x 7-10 split" not a 2, 7, 10 combination.

Thanks Jim, was happy and disappointed all at the same time. (more happy this morning though)

then we can look forward to seeing you at the next event ay?

don't diss the bowlers of australia, just because not many of us go overseas to the US and compete and win, doesn't mean we can't bowl, and DOES NOT MAKE US CLOWNS!!

bowling this event was challenging enough with all the high scores being thrown.

also, i don't recall ever seeing or hearing from you at any event..if you think you're better than us all, we'll see your "superior" bowling skills at the next major tournament

I saw that brooklyn strike of yours too. Not bad being the only one all weekend. Well done on your performance though. Pleasure to watch.

Bigsy...

My apologies for the way that split thing was written. It should have been 2 x 7-10 splits.

Thanks Bluey.

Is it not YOUR sport too? If not why are you on this forum?

Just curious....

I managed one more brooklyn about 3 games later on the same pair, rolled the wrist a little early looking for some carry. Thanks to those that supported me across the weekend, it wasn't unnoticed but all to often l stay in my own little world of over concentration and don't socialise much. Sorry for the disappointing final 9 games, matchplay is still something of a weakness in my game at the moment. Will hopefully see you all at the next one.
Paul.

Well done Trots on your win, well earnt against Australia's best this weekend. As for the lanes, it was suppose to be Route 66 however the lane surface and I suspect memory etched in those HPL lanes created a lot more friction in places there is not suppose to be friction. Lay that pattern on Avilane and the winner averages 220, this centre's lane surface had a lot to do with it.

It was a TBA pattern given to AMF to lay, probably not the best choice if they wanted to control the scoring pace to a reasonable level at that centre. In saying that, a lot of preparation needs to be done to ensure that pattern plays correctly and I'm sure no casual or fulltime tech would have had time to ensure correct preparation and even consult with Kegel about changes.

Overall, if you were a spectator and wanted to see alot of strikes, Sunshine was the place to be. Well done Trots, another gutsy win. Dion, very impressive mate, never seen you bowl that well ever.

PS All 3 finalists were using Storm Virtual Gravitys :) Join the dots on that one!

Bluey, mate, you did well, and you CAN'T over concentrate! To clarify, you need FULL concentration of the mind, while letting the body stay loose - Concentration which tightens muscles is a no no.

Relaxed concentration, how's that for an oxymoron?

Well Done Mr trotter!!! on your winnings in Australian Open!

Well bowl George, Top effort with Storms!!!

Well bowl everyone!!!

Daniel Morphett

To my good mate Paulie Trotter(The Comeback Kid) sensational that's all i can say, you wanted this one really bad and per as usual delivered the goods,to the most unluckiest man in the field Jimmy Bowles, you be hurting my friend but i'm sure you have many great tournies left in you.
And to the best Leftie in the land well done George always knew you were going to be there...Fantastic bowling all weekend, wasn't there but it sure as hell was exciting watching the scores on the Pc..
IMPRESSIVE hey Trotts..

IMPRESSIVE hey Trotts..

And i have to add a big congratulations to Jimmy Bowles. Bowling with a very sore tendon high up on his left leg meant every 10 pin was agony. You didn't once complain and just soldiered on. You should be very proud of your achievement. All on about 5 weeks of league since Xmas. How good will it be with a bit of practice. Mate it will happen and happen soon.

A big Congrates to Trotts, Dion and George ( you always seem to find a way ). Great torny great scores. It was a pleasure to watch

To some of the post basher's on here having a go at the sport, the bowlers, the centres and I don't see you guys out competing with Australia's best tenpin bowlers. Time to put up or shut up! After every event some people are on here giving it a mouthful....

Yes everyone thought the condition was going to be a little tough, but it did turn out to be a little easy but definitely not a ditch! It look to me that most of the bowlers turned up to play and were in some form knowing a world cup spot and $3000 was on the line.

Still bad releases paid for a bad result. Slow ball speed and over rotation still paid for some splits. But from how I bowled and watching others play most competitors were very accurate and that pays off and shows the averages of the top 26.

Congrats to Paul Trotter and Good luck in Croatia. Congrats to all that competed it was a great and exciting event and great to see many spectators.

Well played Sir, well played !!!

And the pros bowled 12 so far during the Marathon Event, don't see you bashing their conditions.

How about for once instead of living in the past, look towards the future.

When was the last time you saw the top 5 postions seperated by 40 pins at a major event in aust? Never because there's usually daylight between these positions.

Some comments on this thread are a bit out of line

I Ask you Do you really want to compare our tourn bowlers with the Pros

I think you need to reconsider and understand they are Pros
and they bowl on conditions and score in a manner that Not one of our current crop could even run a place in.
Lets consider someone like AMP as an exclusion of this comment.

I am not being disrespectful just honest, We lack understanding
of how to bowl and compete on difficult conditions

Life here with lane conditions is easy street
