2006 BAROSSA CUP

Trust me, there are lots of bowlers who want to bowl the Sunraysia 60 game Marathon.
It is one of the most popular and best run tournaments on the state calender.

Not Really ! - who wants to Bowl a 60 Game marathon ??

Who wants to bowl in it, well we have had a full field every year for the past eleven years, of 28 teams, 2 or 3 bowlers per team.

We have Australian reps bowl, we have lots of State reps bowl, we have bowlers from 3 states bowling, we have a great time all weekend.

Originally we chose this weekend so as not to encroach on any other tournaments.

Seems to be a trend in Australia these days to just pop a tournament on the same weekend as another.

Anyway, I have bowled Barossa Cup before and it is a well run tournament, so good luck to all those going over.

We have had the same problem with Barossa Cup numerous times over the last 22 years it has run where they put on a major tournament interstate, even throw South Pacific Classic on the same weekend Barossa has been on for 15-20 years.

I dont what the reason was for the change of dates. Could be any 1 of a number of reasons.

While I know some people would like to bowl both, people will have to make a decision on what they are going to bowl.

And if both tournaments are full I'm sure both tournaments will be a success.
Hopefully next year this can be addressed so they dont clash as I know there are a few people from Mildura that come down for Barossa each year, as
there would be people interrested in bowling the Sunraysia Marathon.

MIGHT BE AN IDEA IF THE SUNRAYSI MARATHON APPEARD ON THE (TBA) NATIONAL CALENDAR THEN PEOPLE ORGANIZING OTHER TOURNAMENTS WOULD KNOW THE WEEKEND HAS A TOUNAMENT ON.

Its unfortunate this year for the clash for the Barossa in its 22th year, but I dont think there will be any chance of a move this year. It's always been a great tourney since it started with Rod Baylis (SACBA (ATBA) run) event.

Totally agree with you robbie re TBA calendar for Sunraysia.

If it is on next year ? I am aware it will be back on the first weekend.

anyway back to barossa...........keep the entries coming in...........

see you all there..........

cheers Tony

P.S. David , Sorry no statements to make about barossa.....dont want to over do-it.

Sorry, was trying to edit and ran out of time.

WHEN TOURNAMENTS ARE ORGANIZED THE NATIONAL CALENDAR IS NORMALLY CONSULTED WITH TO MAKE SURE THIS DOESNT HAPPEN. IF TOURNAMENTS ARE NOT LISTED ON THE CALENDAR YOU CANT SCREAM IF THERE IS A CLASH.

Nice color.;)

Enquiries are being made as to why it is not on there.
A request was sent.
Also normally, from the information provided, the tournaments from the Vicpin site, which we are on, is taken and uploaded to the TBA calendar.

We will have a full field irrespective of Barossa Cup.
Hopefully you have full squads and a successful tournament as well.

All I was doing was pointing out that it was on the same weekend not screaming about it as you so tactfully put it.

Rob.

I have Made enquires Rob and the TBA calendar was consulted when making the date change. Thats why it was moved because it showed the weekend vacant.
I did notice it was on the Total Bowling Calendar site.

Anyway, good luck with the Marathon as I'm sure both Tournaments will have full fields and be very successful.

Hey Chinner,
Can Jason Turai and Jill Morris both be removed from 'b' squad as they are unable to bowl the tournament.
Thanks,
Bobba
