Slow start by the aussies but a long way to go..... Come on guys!

USBC Competition at the World Cup has been delayed indefinitely due to structural problems at the bowling center. A post and support beam above lane 29 have cracked and are showing damage. Engineers are en route to investigate the problem and determine the next step. For a live look at what's going on, head over to BOWL.com...

taken from usbc facebook....

the 1st mens squad bowled at 8am and i struggled to 45 under. during the re-oil some debris was noticed in the gutter of lane 29. as tonx posted...engineers where called, and some steel poles were put in place and we were going to loose the top 6 lanes but after 3 hours of work the engineer would only sign off on the bottom 16lanes not the minimum 24 needed to run the squad with 4 to a pair so it was decided to cancel the rest of the days play and reduce the qualifying to 3 days meaning 15 games qualifying instead of 20games over 4 days...assuming of course that continued work today will mean 24 lanes are available tomorrow. hmmm a day of shopping looks good for me tomorrow as i dont need to bowl till thursday now

oops my bad...about an hour after my post there was a meeting and the qualifying is now over 16 games not 15. So this will mean that 6 games will be bowled in one of the remaining squads instead of 5.

cheers
trotts

Hey Trotts... When bowling up around lanes 26-28, are the bowlers required to wear "StakHats"? :D

Bowl well mate :)

I feel for you both but hope it all goes well for you guys .... that's terrible the building is not sound. The best of luck.

Hey Trots & AMP

Having been a big Tour De France fan for years its sad to think that maybe in other things the froggies are third world standard. You would have thought that with such an important event to be held in the centre that the structural integrity of the building would have been checked before the event. What are there councils up to I wonder? Maybe too much time on the Riviera rather than doing there jobs or maybe too much strike (not of the bowling variety) action and not enough work. I currently work for Bayside council and if it happened here well lets just say it would have been an early trip home for all of you without any result for any one.
