Hi all,

The new league will be starting on the 7th of November.

We have a few positions available if people would like to join the league. It will be first come first serve with priority given to the current bowlers.

If you could make your interest known via any of the current sources that would be greatly appreciated. Please once again make yourself known ASAP.

Majority of the league specifics will stay the same, however there are a few minor changes that we hope will be for the better.

- The oiling condition will be different every 3-4 weeks. These will most likely be sport series patterns, The patterns will be announced so everyone will be aware of what the night holds for them and there will be tips, links and information about the patterns posted on the Facebook page, and this thread (so please remember to follow us).

- The results, standings, and overall statistics of the league will be posted on this thread, via email to participants, and through our Facebook page. It is a new addition that we hope will bring all the information about the bowlers in an easy to follow and accessed medium.

- Held at Crossroad Bowl

- Singles league

- The Peterson scoring system will still be used.

- $30 per week for 4 games + $100 entry fee

- 6pm practice for a 6:15pm start

We hope that this gives you a little bit of information about the new league coming up.

If you have any other questions or suggestions please feel to use this thread, Private Message, or The SuperLeague Facebook page as a means of communicating with the entire league.

As this is our first time running a league, we are by no means going to act like experts, and that we know everything (because we dont!), we are totally open for suggestions, ideas, and advice for consideration. If we all work together, we can continue the success of the league as one of the best, for many years to come!

Thanks for now, and we all look forward to what looks to be a further successful league.

We are still looking for more bowlers to join the league starting next monday (7th November). There is no other league in South Australia that lays sports series patterns to add to the competitiveness and challenge, so take the opportunity to improve your game!

If you are interested, or know of anyone else who is interested, please let myself or Jason Turai know as soon as possible.

Conor

Hi guys,

Sorry for the delay, but attached is the prize payout for this season based on 18 bowlers and no sponsorship. We are still trying to get some sponsorship to add to it, but this will be the basis.

Also attached is the proposed league schedule for the season. We have included a 4 week break for the Christmas/New Year period.

The first oil pattern to be laid for the first 4 weeks of the season will be the 37ft Kegel Broadway pattern. It will not play totally different from the normal house pattern, but will give bowlers less of an area to work with on the lane, to reach the pocket.

A link to more information of the pattern is:
KEGEL - Bowling Solutions / Pattern Library: Recreation Patterns, Challenge Patterns, Sport Patterns, Lane Machines, Lane Conditioners, Lane Types

BROADWAY - 4537 This 37 foot pattern is named after the wide open street in Manhattan called BROADWAY, which ironically originates at a park called Bowling Green. BROADWAY was originally translated from the Dutch name of 'Breede weg' because of its location in New Amsterdam. Because of the medium short length of this pattern and light volume of conditioner towards the outside portion of the lane, players can arrive to the pocket on the BROADWAY from multiple directions.

Night One - Complete.

A big first night welcome to all the bowlers of The SuperLeague. What an interesting opening night on the Kegel Broadway everyone, but don't worry you will all have 3 more weeks to get used to it before we can say goodbye and hello to the next pattern ;)

A mixed bag of scores with a very nice 257 from Chris Mowat in the second game. We see Chris leading the averages, followed closely by a fired up Bernhardt. Sarah who beat her brother by 101 pins shooting a 209 average. Great bowling you two.
All official standings will be posted after the third week once an average for all the players has been established.

Congratulations also goes to the newly appointed;
President - Jason Turai
Vice-President - Zac Krebbekx
Secretary / Treasurer - Conor Quail

See you all next week

Hi all, sorry for the delay on posting the standing sheet on here!

Night Three - Complete.

Finally an official standings sheet! Thank you very much to Zac Krebbekx for his hard work finalising the specifics.

Three weeks down and one more to go on the Broadway pattern. The next condition will be released very shortly but until then, remember what you have learnt from this condition, it might be chosen as the one for the remaining weeks....

A huge score from Zac on week 3, saw him jump into some good form on the standing sheet. One more week on this condition, can he improve on his 951 series? Perhaps week 4 might bring the seasons first 1000 series?

The early leader is Jason Strawbridge, with a lot of close followers. Best of luck to everyone in week 4.

See you all next week

PS. This is from last week. The standing sheet from the completion of week 4 will be uploaded within the next few days!

We can now also let you know that the next Kegel Pattern to be used for weeks 5-8 is the 35ft Kegel Boardwalk.

BOARDWALK - 2435 Based upon the 2000 PBA Indianapolis Open pattern which was created by Kegel, this pattern is designed to play towards the edge board. Because of the relatively short 35 foot length of the BOARDWALK, players will need to control the excessive change of direction of the bowling ball as it enters the 25 feet of dry backend. Since lanes do have many topographical differences, on some lanes the BOARDWALK will require a more direct route to the pocket while other lane characteristics may allow players to swing the ball to the edge board. Like all wooden walkways, this pattern can provide great excitement but stray too far off the BOARDWALK and you'll find yourself in the moat!

I will not be at the bowl for the next two weeks, but will still be keeping an eye on my email account so if you have any questions feel free to contact me on here, or through my email, or speak to Jason.

Night Five - Complete

Welcome everyone to the Kegel Boardwalk. How did you find it? It seems the league prefers something a little shorter judging by the change of league average from 179 on the Broadway to the 182 on the Boardwalk.

A great night from Jason Strawbridge and Zac Krebbekx, with Jason's 872 series really showing the rest of the pack he is out to win. He remains at the top of the leader board for yet another week, congratulations Jason, keep it up.

See you next week
