South QLD Darell Holt Squad participated in the National Darrell Holt Tournament held over the past two weeks at Altona bowl, Melbourne.
The Classic Team made up of Brett Flewellen, Mike Myers, Ronald Hine, Tegan Meads, Belinda Mifsud and Jo Hine performed very well coming in a very creditable 5th position against other states and territories from around Australia, winners of this division were South Australia.
In the Restricted Division the Men brought home Gold, the Women came in fifth and overall SQ secured Bronze medals.
SQ brought home (3) three Masters winners as follows:
Tegan Mead Classic Womens Master
Robyn Harvey Restricted Womens Master
Stephen Batten Restricted Mens Master
These bowlers will defend their titles at next years Darrell Holt Tournament to be held at Burleigh Ten Pin Bowl from the 22nd August to 1st September 2011
The number of games bowled over the 2 weeks was in excess of 6000 games, this tournament provides plenty of opportunity for all standard of bowlers, roll off dates for Classic and Restricted teams will be announced shortly
