Skins Tournament - 7th July 2002

On the 7th July 2002, SAMBA held there second scratch tournament for the year at Village Bowl. As agreed from the last tournament it was decided that it would be better to run the tournament in a skins format.

I am unsure of when and where the next tournament will be held. Going from what was said at the end of the tournament, the next tournament will be held at Woodville Bowl sometime in September possibly early October (probably more likely September as the Nationals are on in NSW at the end of October).

This tournament is open to both Junior and adult bowlers. For those bowlers that are interested in bowling tournaments and are prepared to give it a go should come out and have a bowl.

This tournament is usually about 10 games depending on people and is based on 20 to 25 bowlers turning up. In the last 2 tournaments that have been run this year, there has been about half that number. Therefore, if this tournament is to survive then I urge bowlers to make an effort and come out and have a go in a tournament where you are able to win money on each game bowled.

I would just like to congratulate Mike and Lorraine for organising this tournament. It was a great day.

To those who think that they can't match it with the big guys - I'm one of those so called pathetic girls from the state team, and if I can take two skins of the guys I don't see why no one else can. It just depends how the pins fall.
