Avergaes Question

Hi John

Just wondering, as i was looking at the results from last years tournament why the averages are not correct. For Example:

INDIVIDUAL RECORDS Pts Games T/Pins Ave HSG HSS
049 BIANCA FLANAGAN 11.5 18 2988 171 221 2988
according to my calculator Biancas average is 166.
083 CINDY PHELAN 7.5 15 2162 166 177 2162
and Cindys average is 144.

Some of the averages are correct. But just wondering if you could explain the discrepencies.

Cheers

Andrew C

PS Good Luck to all the Juniors -You will Need it

QJS 2002

Hi Andrew
The computer was told to carry everybodys average for 21 games
This was so that after each match we could see who bowled the most over their entering average.
Thus at the end if they bowled 21 games they got a new average
If under 21 games bowled they still had their entering average listed.

After the tournament a special 4 page report is produced and given to each Manager of each team, listing all average - hi games - Individual & Team points won, etc

In the 2003 Tournament there are 27 matches but any one bowler can only bowl 24, as there are 3 byes in the tournament - thus the 2003 standing will only show everyones entering average. You have to do a manual caculation to get a current average, for each bowler.
Hope this helps
Regards
John
