Gold Gold Gold for Australia at Asian Schools

Australia won their first gold medal of the 5th WTBA Asian Schools Championships with a victory to the Boys Australian A side in the teams event completed yesterday afternoon.

The Australia A side, consisting of Andy Nobbs, Matt Sofia, Matt OBrien and Lindsay Kilpatrick won by 156 pins over second placed Australia B, which meant a 1-2 finish for Australia.

Australia also picked up a Silver medal in the Girls teams when the Australia A team missed gold by only 51 pins.

These wins brought Australias medal tally in this event to 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze (Gold Boys Teams, Silver Boys Teams/Girls Doubles/Girls Teams, Bronze Girls Doubles)

The event concludes today with the Masters which is 16 games of matchplay and a stepladder final contested by the top 16 all events placings. Australia has 7 girls and 5 boys contesting the Masters.
