I would just like to congratulate all the locals who had a crack at the Canberra Open who haven't bowled many if any nationally ranked events before. Thanks also to Brett and AMF for bringing back a good affordable tournament to help fill the gap between no tournaments and major tournaments. Well done also to the guys at A & A Finance for throwing sponsorships dollars into the tournament, with the local business and bowler support hopefully the Canberra Open will continue to grow and once again become a top line event!

Here, here Drew! I especially agree with the comment of filling the gap. A few more tournaments of this size combined with something like the Sport Series Stephen Cowland is getting off the ground and there is a logical progression in tournament play from league to the majors.

Well done Brett, so many new faces, cheap entry fee, everyone got to bowl Sunday and you paid out more than you received!

Also thanks to A&A Finance who supported the event, without your assistance tournaments like these dont get off the ground.

A HUGE thanks goes to Andrew and Angie Campbell of A&A Finance and Leasing on thier sponsorship of this event.

It was a pleasure to see the Canberra Open get back up and running and as stated before, it was great to see so many new faces, both local and interstate, making the trip to Canberra to compete in the event.

Congratulations to George on his win and also to Jason and Paul on their respective finishes in 2nd and 3rd place.

Hopefully word gets around and next year sees this event growing bigger and bigger.
