They all seem like valid arguments. I think there is one reason why bowling doesn't recieve as much recognition as a sport, as it should. Have you ever tried explaining ball physics, oil patterns, lay-outs, etc, to someone who doesn't bowl? The technical aspect of bowling is probably too much for the general public to handle... All they see when they turn on the TV is someone throwing a ball down a lane, & watching it curve impressively, & get a strike - it becomes boring if you don't actually understand what & why they are doing it.

Compared to golf, which has thousands of different courses, all around the world... immediately, the aesthetics (is that the right word?) of golf are more apealing, compared to what the general public see as the dange, reptitive nature of bowling.

I dunno, just my thoughts.
