I have to agree with Loobs here. This setup if definitely going to suit the higher rev players, especially early. Is timber lanes yes?

I am still bowling for sure and would bowl on ice if it were there but I do think going forward, something more suited for all types of shot would attract more entries. Just my opinion.

On a positive, as I don't want this all taken the wrong way, am really looking forward to the next event. See you all next weekend of not tomorrow at Caboolture.

Jase

This isn't a sports pattern but Ballina's house pattern tweaked to allow for the higher volume of games to be played.

Looby, sorry to hear you won't be travelling down to have a go.
JK, rest up and hope to see you on the lanes striking it up.

I don't think so Doug. The concept was, as I perceive it, I could be wrong, to create something akin to Wide Bay but for the southern QLD + Northern NSW bowlers who find travel to much to go to Bundy or areas which are several hours away.

At the end of the day, a tour IMO, is to attract as many entries as possible. Be it low ratio patterns, house shots or something in between, it needs to be able to have conditions to cater for all shot types and give everybody a chance on their day. This is what separates fair tournaments form the great ones as well as how they are run and these are being run brilliantly so far.

Either way keen to bowl regardless. Ashmore might be only one I wont bowl at due to last 2 trips with balls damaged. See you all there.

Guys,
I was not going to say anything but I seen people bowling on this pattern the other day and it is even across the lane left to right, stroker or power player. I think what we have here is someone who when he seen 44ft and the volume shit himself because the ball will not hook at his feet.
The funny thing is the house shot is longer and more volume but way too easy and the strokers kill that pattern.

I can tell everyone from what I've seen having not played on the pattern its not going to be a walk in the park. The pattern is going to move around and keep everyone on there toe's. With the best thing being its going to play even for everyone which we don't see to much so the best bowler will win and we have not seen that of late to many times because of when people pick a wtba pattern then play around with it changing the way it plays from how it was designed to play like we see every event at the moment

I say piss the wtba patterns off and set some guide lines for patterns and let the centres set there own pattern like before. We used to get over a 100 at every event how many are we getting now we need bowlers to come back and this tour is a stepping stone for a lot of guys before they play national events bowlers need to start somewhere at the moment they play once and not come back.

Just remember Cameron has been around a long time and bowled a lot for his country and in international events he knows just a little about the game there is no way he would run an event in his own centre that's not fair for everyone who steps out there.

See ya all next weekend

Well said mate and very fair comment. I am not a super fan of wtba stuff everywhere either and all i was getting at was hope that we see patterns that cater for all. Not just coming up but into the longer term everywhere. As i said i cant wait to get down there and have a chuck. See ya there mate.

Well said Jason .. All ppl need to do is try these patterns out and need to learn how to adjust to suit the oil .. all I know from bowling at ballina and everywhere else is that it's always a challenge to c wat the centres lay down.. A justing to the oil pattern for me is fun coz u intend to bowl new lines that u normally don't.. Enough said for now .. Lets just make this weekend a good weekend of bowling guys..

Thanks corey

Im not a power player and I love the sports patterns, makes me a better player. House ditches are bad. Just my 2 cents

Jason did you even read my post . I am not a bowler who shits himself when he sees a lot of oil, all I said was I am sick of bowling on WTBA patterns and said how about a friendlier pattern .When you posted the pattern it sounds like WTBA LONDON 44ft 24.7 ml of oil . I have bowled on this before and it favours big hand bowlers . I was not running you or any one down so don't run me down. For your info I am 60 years old and have supported many tours adult + senior and bowled on all types of patterns .I just expressed my opinion + my right to bowl where I want . Your explanation of the pattern sounds great it may play differently on your lanes and as I said I hope you all enjoy the weekend bowl well and score heaps

Brian Looby
old bowler who prefers a friendlier condition now + then

Looby nothing personal mate, it just gets to me when a pattern with length and volume gets put down people pull out. This pattern hooks and it is as far from a wtba pattern as you will get. It will be a challenge at time but scores will be up and I would say people will be happy at the end of the day which is a good thing.
Anyway no more pattern talk, its too long since Ballina has had a tournament. Cameron & Emma have put a lot of time and money into the bowl to get it to where it is today so it will be good to see everyone here on the weekend and the locals will love seeing you all.
