ANNE LENTON - Will be sadly missed

Doug and Steve, You are your family are very much in our thoughts at this sad time, the greater bowling family will all miss Ann very much. She was such a treasure, a great supporter of the Australian team and a lovely person to be with. We are very sorry for your loss. Josie Adams and Jim...

BB housemates John and Ash escorted out of house

Now just a minute.....who crossed the room and got in bed with who...... and who said"Oh no, you aren't going to turkey slap me are you?" (bit of a suggestion there maybe?) and in the video clip - after the turkey slap she has her hands under the covers, and take a look at the guys...

Macquarie Leisure Trust (AMF) takes over Melbourne KINGPIN Bowls & Lounges

There has been a "bowling and booze" bar in Darling Harbour for quite some time, but it closed down a few weeks ago. I know of several businesses who hired out the place for end of year type functions, and the public seemed to enjoy it a lot during the summer months, it was in a prime spot in...

    A.T.B.S.O.Q.MASTERS RESULTS 2006

Well done to all the masters winners, but most of all I want to say to Dot Taylor, "you are the most gutsy bowler I know, and good on you for a fantastic effort, you sure turned your game around from last weekend"! I dont think Dot has a computer and she probably doesnt read the Forum, so...

    ATBSO - QLD STATE TEAMS - 2006

Congrats to the 2006 Qld Seniors team, and all the best for the Challenge in Tassie. Good to see the young guns from the men's division stepping up to take on the Challenge - hope Animal can keep you all in order ! I will miss bowling with "the girls" however, some new blood may be just...

Looking at starting a bowling magazine

A bowling magazine is a great idea, BUT before you get too carried away with planning the content, research very carefully how you are going to get the magazine "out there". A big problem is going to be distribution to get your magazine to the bowlers, and its just not a matter of walking...

2006 TBNZ Champs are on this Queens Birthday Weekend.

    Noddy, Big Ears and....

This photo needs a caption, lets see your suggestions: I will start this off: "If you publish this photo I am going to put week killer in your drink". (Its a few hundred kilometres between you lovely guys and me, just as well heh?) Luv you all!

    Sport Bowling

Some are, some are not, some do, some dont:D And they are all different, does that answer your question?

    Events clashing again

Is there somebody who is a "national co-ordinator of tournaments"? It is very hard when forward planning for a tournament to pick a date that does not eventually clash with another event. For instance, I am trying to co-ordinate an event next year for seniors to take place in another country...

    Why Do You Bowl?

This is a wonderful post, with the words of Walt in mind, I still have 20 years to go! Walt's words are inspiring. Obviously the Forum is very wide reaching and its membership ever increasing - as is the Senior Bowling fraternity in Australia. Seniors are "older" not OLD! :D

Intrested in going to a Moonlight Bowl?

Is this the best you can do? Last time I bowled in a "Moonlight Bowl", we started at 10pm, split into 4 groups which "rotated". We bowled for 2 hours, watched horror movies for 2 hours, and "set pins" for 2 hours then bowled for 2 hours consuming quite a few beers during this epic marathon...

    2006 Senior's Melbourne Cup List

Re: Change to Seniors Age Qualification There is of course another side to the argument....as seniors get closer to 60 some of them feel they cannot compete against the 45 year olds, and therefore dropped out of the tournaments. Now they are bowling again as the "bar has been lowered" for...

Going from right handed to left

Something not quite right in your profile, I have never met an 8 year old taxi driver! Please take this advice from one who knows, I had knee surgery 3 months ago and now back bowling. First thing to do: Pick up the phone and make appointment with your GP, when you see him, ask for referral...

    Calling all NZ Seniors

Christene - Oh my Lord, I have been called several things on the Forum, but never "sweet"!! I am doing a lot of research about a possible tournament/holiday and will keep you informed, but dont get excited just yet, it will most likely be next year. I and my " mvp advisor", who...

    Calling all NZ Seniors

Last time I looked, Brisbane was in Queensland, or have you moved to the Land of the Long White Cloud and not told me? Seniors means over 50 Chris, you could not possibly be over 50! Lets see how many seniors we get interested before we fill the bus up with you young things!:p

    Calling all NZ Seniors

Some of us senior bowlers in Australia are looking for an overseas tournament to travel away to in the not too distant future. Are there any seniors in New Zealand who would be interested in taking part in a tournament against a group of Oz seniors, perhaps on an annual basis, one year in NZ...

    Passing of Sue Coker

My condolences to Sue's family and her bowling friends in SA and all over Australia. Sue's motto must surely have been "enjoy your bowling" because she always appeared to do so and was a fine example to all of us on the lanes. I have had many tournament experiences lightened up with a comment...

a ball drillers in great brisbane area

The Forum is for everybody to air their opinion - but not to be insulting and abusive if the people placing the posts do not agree with YOUR opinion Mr Graham (and please....dont put the "thin skin" excuse for a reply this time) ;)

a ball drillers in great brisbane area

I am not a disgruntled ex-employee at all, I left AMF on good terms. And Gavin only drilled the 2 balls for me, no more. Sure, the balls fitted my hand ok, but they were not drilled to suit my style (or lack of it) or my speed (or lack of it). If I buy a new ball its usual to get it...

a ball drillers in great brisbane area

Tom at Aspley is one of the few ball drillers around who actually watches you bowl before drilling a ball for you. Definitely worth talking to, he knows what he is doing. Laurie Hill at Caboolture is excellent, particularly with Hammer gear. Gavin at Richlands - sorry Gav, 0/10 have just...

    PBA Strikepass

Ducati, how about sharing the "trick" with all of us, and let us average surfers have a go. Some bowlers can count over 10 you know, even us old ones. :p

A trans-tasman flights excess bowling bag weight ??

I suggest you look into the matter of baggage weight most carefully with Jetstar, particularly travelling to NZ. I dont know how many bowling balls you are taking, but I can say there are absolutely no concessions with Jetstar as there may be with Virgin. Last year my partner and I took a 4...

    Seniors Tournaments

Personally, I prefer to bowl both days, particularly if I have travelled interstate. I think it will encourage seniors to stay bowling competitively in tournaments and enjoying it, if they can travel away and the schedule is for bowling on both days. 12 games in one squad is a lot of games...
