I've been charged practically every time i've flown with qantas in the last few years, but never with virginblue, and i've heard horror stories similar to matt's about jetstar and dont think i would ever fly with them with anything more than an empty suitcase (even then they'd probably charge...
I have to admit, i wont have nearly as many memories as others, considering i've only really been at fairlanes for the last 5-6 years. But Perth Cup was always a highlight, especially with frawls stacking it a few years ago, watching andrew mcarthur shoot 300 on the next pair to me, and all the...
2003 Asian Schools - being there when the girls won the gold in the teams event for the first time. Being equal with Malaysia going into the last game, holding our nerve and coming out on top was a fantastic experience, one i'll never forget.
Watching them do it in 2002 (Bankstown) was very...
Its a bit old now, but a few weeks ago, one of the guys i bowl league with left 3 6-7 splits in a row - thats got to be tough. But, he redeemed himself by sparing each one of them.
Yep, 3 6-7 spares in a row
Anyone else done anything like that????
Congratulations to Dion Alexander and Mel Warmington on taking out this years SA Under 23's Classic. 2nd was Joel Lovegrove and Glen Loader was 3rd. In the women's division, Mel beat out Cassie Staudinger and Tracey Madden, with Michelle Halprin only 1 pin further behind.
Well Done to All
Same thing happened to the girls Asian Schools team in Penang 2003. When we got the gold in the Teams event, the Malaysian newspapers only reported that their team 'couldn't defend their title' (basically that they lost it, not that we won it)
Regarding cost, I have to agree with Flower on this, the cost (for some people) to go to this camp just to find out you're unfit is a big ask. I know it would cost me about $800-900 total to go to this camp, plus any time needed to take from work or school commitments. There has to be a better...
Wish you guys all the best, but then again, we wouldn't expect anything less from you. To Glen, Mickey, Belmo and Steve - give it all you've got, we'll be proud, whatever you do
Im just thinking, at the first year of the Youth Challenge, a Youth Advisery Committee was put together, presumably to be asked about things that would affect the youth bowlers in this country. Im a member of that committee, should we not have been asked what we thought of the idea???
I have to agree with BJ on this one. The purposes of the challenge was to keep the people who have not long aged out of shield in the game and possibly on to future Rachuig representation. Also, Adult Nationals and Rachuig only a few years ago was open to all ages, now you have to be over 18...
Congratulation to Jason Belmonte for winning his 2nd consecutive Perth Tenpin Cup today.
The final was a thriller, with Jason playing fellow New South Welshman Jarrod Lean in the final matchplay game. Both were neck and neck, with Jarrod needing to beat Jason by just 5 pins to win the title...
I finished 13th (208 average), missing out on the final by 3 places. Considering the field that was playing, most of who had come for the World Ranking Masters, I'm really happy with that.
HUGE congratulations to Jason for winning his 2nd Kuwait Open title in a row with a thrilling 258 - 253 win over Osku Palermaa of Finland. It went all the way down to the 10th frame, with Jason managing to hold Osku off. A fantastic final between two of the best 2-handed bowlers around. Cant...
