The way I spare the 7 pin is simply bowl the same as I would for a strike, only much slower... very rarely misses! On oily lanes however, you need to bowl straight at it.

It does sound weird now I think about it... but it has worked for me over ten years... as I said, I am trying to change my style atm... that's why I asked how others bowl...

I'm glad to see other people look at the pins ;) I have tried looking at arrows / boards but for some reason I found it less consistent! I find it more consistent if I look at the pins I want to hit... too much can happen between the arrows and the pins. I like to see the ball move...

Try bowling a 290 then a 126 in a ranked tournament to miss the cut by 2 pins... yeah that was a defining moment! It happened in 2003... I was not happy :( Each time I have bowled 290 since, I focus on beating 126 in the next one! :p

It is weird but whenever I am about to bowl in a tournament, my knee plays up... aches after about 2 games.:confused: It is fine any other time - I do bowl quite a few games in a week though Sounds like an excuse but it actually does happen!
