    Straight bowling

If there is a lot of carrydown, you need a more aggressive surface bowling ball to hook despite the carrydown. That's why I would not suggest a plastic or a less aggressive ball for those conditions. I'd probably choose a solid not a pearl, aggressive surface ball with a drilling for an arc...

    Straight bowling

The oil pattern as described is one of excessive carrydown. Which nights do you bowl at Knox? I would be happy to call past and have a look if it doesn't clash with my own leagues. Regarding your leg "problem", it is the coaches who have a problem if they can't look outside the square and...

    Straight bowling

Ozmoz Sorry to disagree with the other posters, but I think you should look at a more aggressive ball and/or drilling plus some coaching to get you back enjoying the game. Judging by your comments, you need some help with technique to get the ball moving and carrying pins plus if the lanes...

Other your ultimate set of 6

My aresnal for SPC will be: Lane 1 Super Carbide Bomb - good on a flood, reckon this would turn on an ice skating rink. Mainly in the bag in case the Kegel changes the character of Moorabbin too dramatically Lane 1 Purple Pro - Strong reaction on fresh lanes Columbia Reaction Rip - Handles...

    C.T.B.A.M Rules

I think your league official is misguided as the TBA follows WTBA rules. The USBC rules don't exactly align with WTBA and anyway a legal ruling in the USA has no effect in Oz. It's only the Seppos who think the whole world revolves around them. Lance, re different handicap systems...

    C.T.B.A.M Rules

Hey Ozmoz One of the Leagues I bowl in has a 50 max Handicap with 80% of 200. The other League is 90% of 200 unlimited. Both work fine and both have an Average of the whole league in the mid 170's. Personally, I think the average basis should be just above the highest average at the start...

    Move for a coalition

Hi Buzz Hope this thread remains positive and gets peoples interest. Initially we need to step back a little bit and think about the State situation. TBA Vic needs to work with a single Melbourne organisation and the many country associations (Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, Mildura, Shep...

    WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO !

Hey Rob Mike Kennedy is not just trundling along, shot 300 at Moorabbin in the Seniors last weekend, using a Urethane ball cos it "was too dry for a reactive"! His swing, timing and release are sensational. Learnt more about bowling releases in a 10 minute conversation with Mike than I had...

    Register or be stripped?

Andrew I think the most important point is one that you have mentioned...Insurance. If you are an unregistered coach and someone under your supervision/training is injured, how will you stand legally? Probably in a lot worse situation than someone who is registered and covered by insurance...
