where to find equipment in LA/Vegas?

Don't forget to factor in the cost of having your purchases shipped back here. Might work out to be more expensive than you think.

    Split Conversion Comp

I notice all the ball returns are behind the approach. Makes it look twice as big. (4 times in his case as he's so tiny).

Now now children - let's not start the new year with an argument :)

Why should I pay $55 to bowl league?

I wonder what the high score situation would be if you have paid yet the remainder of your league has not? Or maybe where a 4-man team win their league but only two of them have paid up.

    Lane surface

We got resurfaced? I'm there tomorrow :D I just wondered how many were left as we appear to be the last in Adelaide. Perhaps we've been forgotten :( Edit: are there any other AMF alleys in SA that have wooden lanes? 2nd edit: spelling error on first edit

    2009 SA Cup

This place was, I think, used by some of the English bowlers during the 2007 World Police and Fire Games as it's not too far from Cross Road.

Interesting Rule clarification - Switching hands

Don't think that's right. One wouldn't, for example, be permitted to bowl thumbless if the label area was not in your palm as you'd, in effect, be outside of side/top weight tolerance. Re the left/right hand delivery, the absence of a rule does not necessarily mean the activity is permitted.

TBA Income & Accountability - Suggestion

If an alley doesn't run any leagues then I guess they wouldn't. If they want to run leagues during the day/evening and those leagues want to be sanctioned then it's pay up or lose that league to an alley that is.

TBA Income & Accountability - Suggestion

Ok then. Have each centre that wants to host sanctioned leagues/competitions etc pay an annual registration fee. The money could then be recouped by dividing the annual fee by the number of games played at that centre. There would have to be certain levels though - one wouldn't expect Pt...

TBA Income & Accountability - Suggestion

Back onto funding etc, has anyone done any sums? How much does the TBA need? (Need, not want). Let's have a realistic and accountable figure rather than leaving it open ended - no coherent plan can be formulated unless a definite goal is in mind.

TBA Income & Accountability - Suggestion

Linky to brochure here Edit: Dunno about the raison d'etre for offering awards for 2-game 600 and 3-game 900 series though. Bit optimistic I reckon.

TBA Income & Accountability - Suggestion

He might if he's a social only bowler and the cost increases. Everyone has a cash limit on how much they're prepared to spend. I know of people who take their beer bottles home from the alley as they get 5c back each time. Try increasing their rates :(

TBA Income & Accountability - Suggestion

I think many leagues will simply not pay the TBA fee and remain unsanctioned self-run affairs. When we first started my Thursday league around 3 years ago there was an amount (can't remember how much) that was for TBA registration. When the season came to an end the question was asked of the...

Are there any other alleys in SA apart from Noarlunga that have wooden lanes?

    A little clarity

No you can't - you'd still be required to have your palm over the "label" area as otherwise you could be delivering a ball with anything up to 3oz sideweight.
