2010 to be a year of advancement

Yeah the last one was very restricted being on my own hosting and using a blog product. This one I gave to Angy to do using a proper content management tool, she's done a fine job thus far

2010 to be a year of advancement

It is my pleasure to announce that the ACT Tenpin Bowling Association has finally managed to acquire some solid IT services. I realise this might not mean much to everyone, but this is the result; 1. We have an easy to remember website now. http://www.acttba.org.au/ 2. We have easy to...

    Rachuig 2009

I concur, I'd love to see a somewhat challenging pattern put down for league. I think if our league bowlers would learn to have an average on a tough pattern, they wouldn't be surprised when they travel to an event. What would you put down? I do quite like "Middle Road"

    Rule Clarification

Since the opponents did complete their series, obviously it could be done... Or in the tense of the moment, can be done. Because you can't, or because you won't? You can if you want to, use a house ball. Can't, for mine, means unable not unwilling. My gear gets chunked up occasionally...

    Rule Clarification

How's this; RULE 324 SERIES - HOW BOWLED A natural (two adjoining) pair of lanes will be used in each game of league play. Teams scheduled to bowl against each other must be in direct competition on adjacent lanes, and will then and there oppose each other, unless a forfeit or postponed or...

    Rule Clarification

How bizarre... The match has to be conducted where it began, barring any practical reason why the whole match should be moved. "Because we wanted to" isn't a practical reason, if the other team wanted to remain on the match pair then that is in fact what should happen. You certainly can't...

cleaning balls during league or tournament

Don't feel bad Leanne, that change was pretty quiet and only happened this last year or so. Hm, maybe it was last year - in any case the rule book does change without warning mid-season!

cleaning balls during league or tournament

You can't apply anything but a clean cloth in a continuous session of games. League is generally one continuous session. In a tournament, you can clean them (with approved fluids only) every lane change or change of opponent.

    Oil Pattern for Nationals

Yeah, sorry Josie I had a very moderate pattern put down for holt. That said this one doesn't look particularly interesting either - good luck! On the up side (for me) I just came off the golf course... ;)

    Oil Pattern for Nationals

Does anyone recognise the first two?

    Rule Clarrification

This came up more than once at Holt this year. The rules state that you must not drill more than 12 holes in a ball, being NO MORE THAN five gripping holes, one vent hole each, a balance hole and a mill hole for inspection purposes. Therefore you don't actually need to have a thumb hole...

2009 Darrell Holt Tenpin Bowling Carnival Entry form

Actually it would seem he's not paying that much attention to the lanes... I'm sure I read something about striking a lot this morning - that wasn't as close to the mark as it could've been!

what other sports do you play??

I'm confused why there's an option for football, and an option for 'soccer'... :p Played representative football (that's the round one, 'soccer'), and cricket. Currently play a bunch of indoor sports, but mostly fluffy ball (like 'soccer'), indoor netball (seriously!)

Dates for this years ACTTBA events

Pretty soon. Six to four weeks from trials dates, generally. Which means a month or so possibly.

    First Aid course

Okay, more information; The cost is $140 for the full course, which has some homework before the practical component. The practical component is one day, 0830 - 1730. Reaccreditations can be done for $95 and is much the same, only without the homework. We are looking at booking the...

Dates for this years ACTTBA events

That's a fair question, and a good point. Yes, they've moved back about a month to allow for Cheryl Munson's visit and the other events in town beforehand. Planned dates 31/10 & 1/11, still in Tuggeranong. Will confirm.

    Open Masters

Mr Palma, you say that every time. You're the only one who says that... What do you get when you try it? The other 8,500 hits this week (wow!) suggest it's just you! :)
