Hey CJ,

What has happened to all your De Veer ladies.
I thought everyone would be happy to get a chance to roll off.
I didnt think all your bowlers last year were 160 - 170
In SA we had 14 ladies and 8 men
I hope you can get a team together, we dont want to lose the De Veer tournament. Looks like most states are struggling for numbers.
I hope we dont lose the tournament due to the TBA changes.

Pam

Hey Pam

Unfortunately we only had 2 girls nominate for De Veer this year. :(
From last years team..... only 2 people had averages low enough to go this year - one of them was myself and unfortunately I can't afford to make the trip this year.
We are still to hear whether nominations will re open or not.
Only 8 men nominated.... so still enough for a roll off.

Fingers crossed I may be able to make NSW in 2005. I had a great time in T/Ville for my 1st WDV and look forward to bowling it again.

Cheers
CJ :D

Hi CJ,
Are any of the men from last years team?
Sorry to see your not in a position to go this year, I can understand cos you have to pay more than any other team every year.
We are very sad here in SA for your shortage of bowlers.
We had 14 roll off so I am hoping some of our bowlers apply for the draft cos it looks like there are plenty of spots.
I would hate for the womens tournament not to go ahead

Cheers,
Pam

Only 2 ladies and 8 men hardly a great success.
Too change's! Only 8 men for De Veer it's the the same all over AUS.................... Gary......................

yep a few from last year and a few newbies LOL

from last year we have....
Shayne Hendikson
Brad Hurst
Peppy Giorgio

I have just put up under a new post the final results for the boys.

And yees hopefully we may be able to draft a few to the ladies team... not sure on the ruling though for how many have to be from the home state... seeing that we only have 2 bowlers. Lets just say that if nominations are reopened and I have the miracle of winning lotto in the next month then I may be there LOL

Gary....

yes a little diapointing considering that last year we had 9 ladies rolloff and we had to cut the men to the top 16 and then roll off.

with any luck reopening the nominations for the ladies might get a few last minute ladies and we might be able to get some draft players maybe from the states that had excess ladies

Unfourtunatly a few state's have had to do the same thing! Have extra roll off's. As for other state's helping out i don't think that's right?
Gary...........

While I can appreciate what you are saying about other states helping out I also feel that having all the states represented in the WDV is better than only 3 or 4. Also for the bowlers that missed out in their own state - having the oportunity to still play - be it under a different states colours - is an oportunity to bowl and experience the WDV tournament (more so for newbies).
I was a first timer last year and not only did I have a lot of fun and meet a great deal of wonderful people - but what I learned and the confidence I gained in my own game from bowling WDV was amazing. The only thing that stopped me nominating this year was lack of finances. Aside from that - if the situation was that the the WA team was full and I missed out - I would most certainly be sending off an application for drafting.
Fingers crossed that by next year we here in WA can pick up the interest in the WDV tournament and get over to NSW for 2005.

Sue :)
