I can confirm the 2009 Sharp Plywood Youth Champion of Champions is being held on 14-15 November at Greenslopes Lanes. Entry forms will be released hopefully as soon as tomorrow.
This nationally ranked TBA accredited event will be open to all bowlers who hold a 2009 TBA Registration Card and have not reached the age of 23 years as at 1st January 2009.
Here are some of the details:
Format:
* Stage 1 (Qualifying) - All bowlers will bowl 12 games in one appearance. Pinfall carries over to Stage 2.
* Stage 2 (Final) - Top 12 males and females will bowl an 11 game Matchplay final with 1 game positional round in their divisions. Bonus pins are awarded; 20 for a win, 10 for a draw, 0 for a loss. The highest pinfall in each division after the 12 games will be declared 2009 Sharp Plywood Youth Champion of Champions.
Tournament Schedule:
Saturday 14th November -
* 'A' Squad - 12.30pm check-in, 1pm bowl 12 games (lane change after every 2 games)
* 'B' Squad - 5.30pm check-in, 6pm bowl 12 games (lane change after every 2 games)
Lanes will be oiled between squads
Sunday 15th November -
8.30am - Top 12 Male, Top 12 Female bowlers check-in for Matchplay
9.00am - All bowlers commence bowling 12 games Matchplay
Presentations will commence approx 3.00pm (after completion of Matchplay)
Entry Fee - $200
A $50 Deposit must be paid to secure your squad preference.
Prize Fund Payout
Males (based on 40 entries)
1st - $1100 + trophy + entry into 2010 tournament (if eligible)
2nd - $800, 3rd - $600, 4th - $450, 5th - $350, 6th - $300, 7th - $250, 8th - $225, 9th - $200, 10th - $180, 11th - $180, 12th - $180
Females (based on 20 entries)
1st - $825 + trophy + entry into 2010 tournament (if eligible)
2nd - $600, 3rd - $450, 4th - $350, 5th - $275, 6th - $225, 7th - $200, 8th - $175, 9th - $150, 10th - $140, 11th - $140, 12th - $140.
Prize fund will be adjusted according to number of entries received.
