Kegel,summit,century, any difference?

Loose Cannon

Bowlers always have time to spare.
Just wondering if the machines such as kegel, summit, century etc used to oil the lanes are a much of a muchness regarding laying down patterns or is there a big difference between brands?

For example if lanes are cleaned as a control point, then a top hat pattern is laid would there be much difference in the application by a different machine?

Loose Cannon, the answer is Big Yes, the Century is old technology (1970's ) it has a limit to how much Oil it can put on a Lane, you could not put down a 4 or more to 1 ratio without running the Machine down the lanes more than twice. The Summit can put a 4 to 1 pattern in one run, but it does do 2 runs Automatically whilst doing it. For Pure Accuracy and a perfect Pattern every Lane than the Kegel is head and shoulders above the other 2 mentioned and both the Kegel and Summit will clean the Lanes, the Summit has to be servised more to clean properly.

Then also going on from willeys post there are major differences between models in the kegel range, from your wick/pad machines like the crossfire, where it will transfer oil from a tank through wicks onto a transfer roller then onto the buffer brush and finally applied to the lane, right through to the top of the line spray jet machines such as the lanewalker where the oil is applied more precisely onto the lane via a spray jet.
The spray jet machines are able to do much more diverse patterns than a wick/pad machine is capable.
Hope this helps you understand a bit more loose cannon.

From what I have seen in Bathurst, the Brunswick Authority 22 is a very impressive machine. Seems to have less moving parts than a Kegel Sanction machine as well.
