Greatest Pick-ups

Well, i have had a few bige splits in my time but never spared many. What is the biggest split you've got.
To get the ball rolling( not funny) tonight i picked up the 7-10, but the funny thing was i left the big 4 (4-6-7-10).
Anyways.....

ive left just about every split there is except for the 5-7-10
i havnt picked up any 7-10s or the big four but came close
took out the 6-10-4 pins and left the 7 wobbling.
no 8-10s
also picked up the 4-9-10-7 backup (im right handed)
alot of 6-7s and 4-10s and i picked up the 5 and 9 pin by bouncing the 8 pin directly of the back to take out the the 5 pin.
think thats about it
maybe the 3-9-6-10-4-7 if that counts as a split
also the 2-8-4-10 as well.

I have picked up 17 7/10 splits, Billy Gardiner from NSW has picked up 18, I am still trying to get even with Billy. :D 8)

the biggest split i have picked up is the 7-10 on three occasions

picked up to 8-10's and a big four

have seen a person onlt take out the first four pins (1,2,3,5) which is the strangest thing i have seen

well the hardest/weirdest splits i've picked up have been:

the 7-9 (picked up my spare ball, had my fingers in it on the second step of my approach and aimed at the 7 pin, which came out of the back to take out the 9)

the 7-10 (well, sort of, i left the 4-7-10 (i'm a lefty) and only just tapped the 4 pin very very lightly, while the 7pin came out of the back and took out the 10)

and the greek church: 4-6-7-8-10 (aimed at the 4-7-8, the 4 pin went passed the 8 into the back, while the 7 came out of the back, and hit the 8 pin in between the 6-10, and the 6 fell forward then the 10 fell too) :D

i've spared the 4-7-9 and all i was trying to do was take out the
4-7 pins and i clipped the 4 pin and to my surprise it clipped the 9 pin.

i'm still in shock today :!:

At Australian Open 2001, whilst warming up for the TV Show, Brenton Davy was practicing 10 pins at a full deck. He hit the 10 pin which jumped out and knocked over the 7 pin.

So he got the 7-10 and left the rest of the deck standing .. not a bad effort :D

Bowling Nationals in 2000 a bowler from our center spared the 5-7-10. Used an 8 pound plastic ball at about 16km/h. Bounced off the 5 pin, sent it crashing into the 10, then the ball continued onto the 7. Most recently a woman in my league spared the 4 - 7 - 9 - 10. That was a pretty good leave from a pocket shot, when she spared it i had to double take :)

Im partial to leaving the odd 2 - 8 - 10, picked up a handfull bowling backup  I knew it had to be good for something

I have the spared the 7-10, the big four, and the 2-8-10 at least once. The common splits I am yet to spare are the 4-6 and the christmas tree.

I have picked up the :
7-10,
4-7-9-10, (not back up either, i'm right handed)
4-7-10,
6-7-10,
4-10, (and 4-9 but they aren't that hard).
6-7,
4-7-8-10,
6-7-9-10 and the 3-6-7-9-10

and of course the good old 1-5-7.

This is to not critisise anyone but Im pretty sure that the 4 9 or 4 7 9 for the rightys and the 6 8 6 8 10 for lefties isnt that great of spare yeah it is a split but it is pretty commonly picked up. Reading this topic i would of thought that like 46710 710 were splits to list.

I must admit i think that the 2 8 10 for the righties and 3 7 9 for the lefties would be one of the hardest spares to spare.

And to Timmee your Quote on the good old 1 5 7 well thats something to be proud of leaving NOT!!!

Just my two cents worth

Sarah

Umm yeah thats what the  was for I thought you could probably work that one out yourself. But anyways, it was years ago. It should never happen and I dont know how i actually left it but who cares, i was like bowling conventional style then. I have never done it again since.

Try bowling backup, it works wonders, you will never leave the sleeper and take out the 10 again :D

Timmee how the heck did you leave the 1-5-7

as levi asked always 3rd were you throwing pancakes?

sorry if you take this as an insult levi :(
