Emerson Shield 2008

Provisional details for 2008 Emerson shield

Looks like next years Emerson shield will be two zones - (effectively a Northern and Southern split)

North zone (Zone final in Mildura)
Mildura, Wodonga, Horsham, Shepparton, Bendigo, Ballarat, Melton, Epping Echuca.

South zone (Zone final at Geelong bowl-a-rama)
Geelong, Colac, Warrnambool, Sale, Morwell, Narre Warren, Werribee, Bowlarama, Mentona, Altona.

Top 5 from each zone will go through to final (intention is for both zone finals to be held early August - hopefully same weekend)

Final will be in Epping November 29th and 30th.

Needless to say the final at Epping will be the highlight of the season!

i do presume with brand new machines that is a "no brainer"

and for some unknown reason it was over looked at the sports series event

My prediction for Men's Zones

Mildura, Shepparton, Melton, Bendigo, Epping (maybe Ballarat -- depending on who is playing)

Werribee, Mentone, Bowlarama, Colac -- & a lottery for fifth team between Geelong / Warrnambool / Narre (all depends on who is playing in the teams - i have no idea who will be in Altonas team so they might be a wildcard)

Someone asked who people thought would get through the zone finals so i am just giving my opinion Ralph. Obviously without knowing who is bowling for what teams it involves a lot of guess work.
One of two things will happen -- 1) i will be proved correct or 2) I will be proved incorrect
