hi all

i have had a ball left in my pro shop to have ball damage fixed

this person bowls in the peterson league

the question is this legel to bowl with this ball with no holes ?

and if he gets lucky and bowls a 300 how do you wiegh this ball ?

It is legal....

As long as the ball when it's weighed up, has no more than 1oz difference between any side.

Because there is no centre of grip, that's why there must only be 1oz difference between every side, as opposed to being able to have 3oz top/bottom weight in a "conventionally" drilled ball.

The ball most likely would have to be classed as a second, as it would have to have out of the box, less than 1oz top weight. There are rare, but have seen some.

Which side...How many sides does a sphere have?

In spatial terms a sphere has infinite sides, however, in bowling ball measurements there is 4; top, botttom, left and right.

Find the centreline and grip midline as you would when drilling any new ball.

The hemisphere north of the midline is top, south is bottom. Left of centreline is left and right is right.

Cheers.

For drilling purposes and legal specifications there are six weighable sides to a bowling ball.
Top - Bottom - Positive - Negative -Finger - Thumb

Top Bottom
