Would Bowlers be interested in Bowling in a Scratch Tournament or Skins Tournament on ANZAC DAY.
Bowl 9am. 8 - 10 games.
If we have enough bowlers interested I will put something together.

I don't think it is right bowling on Anzac day. This day is a time when we should be remembering all Australians & New Zealander's who have died during times of war.
I don't think bowling on anzac day will do this.
If you could figure out a way to do this and work it in with the bowling i.e. raise a bit of money and donate it to Legacy then i think that it should be ok. I'm as big a bowling nut as anyone out there but i still wont be bowling on Anzac day.
If this event does go ahead by all means have fun enjoy yourselves but also take the time to remember what Anzac day means to both Australians & New Zealanders.

I'm all for raising money and remembering and respecting, but I don't see why something like this shouldn't go ahead. How many years now has there been an AFL game on Anzac day between Collingwood and Essondon???

I would come and bowl at Macarthur if you put a ladies division into a scratch tournament and its not too expensive.
Those of us who take Anzac Day seriously would have got out of bed early and gone to a dawn parade. The ex-diggers go to the dawn parade, then they get together afterwards and socialise in the true spirit of mateship. I cannot see anything wrong in going bowling with our mates instead of propping up a bar in an RSL somewhere.
So long as we pay our respects to the diggers before we start bowling and remind ourselves why we celebrate Anzac Day, I think it would be ok.

Interesting to see tournaments come up after a great Sport Series II!
ANZAC Day is a great day to bowl, as long as we all remember what the day is for, I don't think there's any disrespect in bowling on that day.
I for one am interested in the tournament if it happens. So put me in as No.1!

hey all,
yes it is great to see tournaments being talked about on the local seen here in NSW again also.
In relation to this one, well it all depends on start times, as i have a prior engagement with a football game i never miss the mighty dragons v the roosters in the annual anzac day match in sydney at 3.00pm, also would it be a sports series style format tournament or skins.
Once this becomes more clear i will be able to make an educated decision because when i say i will play i always do so as soon as this info is available i will tell you one way or another if i will participate.
Thanks again to all involved in the sports series, for me it was a great experience and learning curve at was is required to be competitive at this level as well as being paired with 3 great bowlers who i learned alot from bowling with in Glen Anderson, Sam Romeo and Maxine Nable who all cashed and i did not finish last finishing 40 out of 45 competitors and that was pretty good i thought for a bowler with a 140 average there at mcarthur on monday nights so i was wrapped and will definetly be back for more.
