And before anyone asks .. I found this at this web page.

Australian Website www.amfbowling.com.au

Overview:
Designed to be more than just another website – www.amfbowling.com.au is to become the final word and the home of Tenpin Bowling in Australia at the same time providing fun and entertainment.

Coming soon!
Beta testing of Australia’s AMF Website is set to commence by June 29, 2001.

Specifics:
Developed by ‘Webraven Pty Ltd’, the website is to be of the dynamic type as opposed to static websites which can only be upgraded by specialised web trained staff. The site is ‘backended’ by a SQL Server database with ‘ColdFusion’ programming technology allowing the site to change and evolve with daily updated information and interactivity for visitors.

Easy to edit information:
A brilliant benefit of this particular website concept is that key staff can add and edit information even with no prior web design skills via a ‘Log In’ and passcoded entry through a ‘wizard’ interface.

Scalable:
The mechanics of this website allow the website to grow with AMF Australia’s future. Extensions to the functionality of the website are modular. Electronic commerce transactions, bulletin board and even chat room functions can be commissioned at any time by adding a new function. This feature alone saves on the cost of total website redevelopment every time a new feature is demanded with growth.

Intranet?
An added bonus of enormous importance is the integration of an ‘intranet’ backend. This allows AMF Australia to have private administrative areas exclusive from the website for management communication and storage of a library of information such as training manuals, report forms and even delicate information which is ‘fire walled’ into special safe areas using the latest encryption technology.

This feature can also be extended to ‘exclusive club’ information for league members or other club situations.

Just for the FUN of it! An e’Tenpin Bowling Game!
The website is designed to maximise return traffic with the inclusion of a ‘Flash technology’ tenpin bowling game. The license for the game has been purchased from an existing developer and is expected to generate referrals to the website as well as encourage a feeling to ‘rush out and play the real game’ at an AMF tenpin centre. Competitions could become an extension to this game.

Corporate & Group Functions:
Birthday parties, corporate functions and events, league products and social play products are all to be featured on the site. Of importance is a customer response form, which will be directed to the corporate events sales manager who will be able to gather information and follow through to potential clients.

Online Tournament Entry:
Tournaments will feature an e’commerce facility for entrants to register and even pay their entry fee online.

Pro-Shop:
Bowling Products in Australia will publish a database driven catalogue of consumer products and centre modernisation products that will facilitate a keyword search function. An e’commerce transaction facility will be added in the near future to enable customers to even purchase online.

Advertising advantage:
The website will be mass publicised as an inclusion to all TV commercials, printed vouchers and brochure material. The website address will also be appended to all company emails in order to stimulate a ‘viral’ email marketing campaign. Competitions and special offers will be run in conjunction with the website to enhance traffic.

News:
The website will also feature latest tenpin bowling and AMF happenings and events. This will be a simple function for any authorised key staff member to operate and will keep the website fresh and interesting for both new and repeat visitors.

Objectives:
This website is directly in response to AMF Australia’s ‘League Response Survey’ to improve communication with league bowlers. One objective of the site will be to remove damaging rumours and misleading information that often circulates on other tenpin bowling websites.

It is intended to become a marketing tool where savings will be made by reducing the amount of printed vouchers, brochures and other materials. Another advantage will be to personalise special offers by directly emailing to a select list of customers who have granted us permission to keep them informed. Relevant news information will also be sent to the same select customers via an e’zine.

The website is also designed to allow AMF Australia to have an internet presence which has been requested for many years by many enthusiastic customers who just want to know more about what’s happening in their AMF centre and the world of tenpin bowling globally.

There will be cost savings by using the administration intranet to help with staff communication, training, reporting and even the use of ‘library’ promotional brochures for individual centre promotions.
