5th Qatar Open (Sept 5th - 16th)

Took me a while to find the site (they changed it from .com to .net)..

anyway... for anyone interested here is the website:

http://www.brothergate.net/qatint5/

Looks like they changed the format...no longer 6 game blocks like previous years (two year ago was best two blocks, last year was best single block).....

Looks like it is now more like Bahrain open....best 9 games, 3, 3 game blocks, re-entries allowed.

Good luck to all that are going...

I am trying to scrap up a sponsor, but isn't looking good (it was easier last year when I was in Bahrian, but now am stateside).

Better or Worse

Hey Bud

What gear u burning out nowadays?????

Keep in touch bud

Sorry Scott, whilst I'd love to go my fiance is gradutating from the Police Academy soon and I have some other stuff on back home. The pattern looks alot easier than last years brutal conditions. I'm sure Frawls and Belmo will fly the aussie flag high! Are you making the trip?

nope, not making the trip....money is tight.

I was going to go IF the Bahrain Open and Qatar open were around the same dates.

I'm planning on one if not both for next year, regardless of timing, putting money away each month for it!

Take care.

Scott

looks like the field is filling up now, w/ Internationals Tore and Mario Quintero competing.

I am presuming that Tim Mack, along w/ Frawls, Belmo and Walsh are hitting Qatar after the SIngapore Open?

12 of 36 squads down... 3 sqauds on tap for tommorrow, then it goes to 4 a day the rest of the way.... so I know they will still have plenty of time to get some good scores in.

Good luck to those attending!

Yep the guys are going to Qatar then British Open ? (in that order - im not too sure) Id imagine Belmo and Frawls are - not too sure about Walshy.

Frawls on fire

Not bad for Frawls' first two trials...709 , 742

http://www.brothergate.net/qatint5/squad16.htm

http://www.brothergate.net/qatint5/squad17.htm

Still lots of squads left... I'm sure Belmo will be safe after a "slow" start of 649 , 698

540, 694 for Walsh.

Mr. Mack did ok too.... 715, then a 581....

but there are still 19 or so squads left for them to get their best 3 sets in. Now that more internationals have shown up, I am sure the cut score will start to climb.
