15th Cathay Bowl Super Classic 2003

Mack-nificent perfect man the Super Classic champion 22nd March, Singapore: Tim Mack of USA who shot a perfect game in the qualifying rounds, was magnificient when he ousted Kimmo Lethonen of Finland 257-196 in the final stepladder match to win the 15th Super Classic title this afternoon at Cathay Bowl, SAFRA Tampines.

Tim, who finished top-seed after the 12 games semifinals earlier, was the only bowler to score the perfect game during his third block qualifying rounds yesterday morning. Tim won S$100,000 for his 57th perfect game in his bowling career.

In the first stepladder match between second-seed Kimmo Lethonen and third-seed Biboy Rivera from the Philippines, Kimmo easily disposed off the Filipino 235-187 before the match with Tim.

The American proved too strong for Kimmo who eventually took the crown with a comfortable win. Tim added S$15,000 to the S$100,000 perfect game while Kimmo settled for S$7,600. Biboy Rivera took home S$4,700 for his effort finishing third.

Asian Ranked No. 1 and Busan Games triple Gold medalist, Remy Ong who was lying second at the half way mark just missed the cut for the stepladder finals by 10 pins to finished 4th with 2642. World Tenpin Masters champion, Tore Torgerson of Norway was 5th with 2567 while the AVIVA ABT 2002 Hong Leg champion Chester King of the Philippines took 6th spot with 2562.

Lin Chin Hsing (2546), Jeremy Fang (2530), Tsai Ting Yun (2524) and Cheng Chao Yu (2508) finished 7th to 10th positions respectively.
