I am under the impression that this AGM started but is not finished. Or may be postponed till june 4th (seniors tournament day).
It is also my impression that the AGM started but then halted so that the Exec. commitee could have a special meeting for about one hour in the middle of the AGM for whatever reason then resumed the AGM then stopped again only to be postponed.
I hope the special meeting was after the AGM was postponed, I would hate for the people that came for the AGM would have to hang around.......

Please people what going on................

Hey there tony.

At the AGM the other day, there were 2 motions that were put forward that had to be decided on. The first one - to sell the TBA Office, was squashed and it was decided that a working committee needed to be set up to look into the situation of the TBA Office with the view of either selling the Office or doing it up.

The second montion that was put forward was to adopt a new Constitution for TBASA to abide by. The situation that occured was that the New Constitution couldn't be brought in at the AGM. The Constitution need to be discussed by the board and brought in at a board meeting - something like that.

Anyway the new constitution is suppose to be put to people like the Disabilities committee and ATBSO to seek advise back on what those committees think about the New Constitution. I think this is suppose to be done by 7th May and then that information is suppose to be tabled at the next board meeting which I think is on the 22nd May.

The reason the meeting was postponed was for this to happen, secondly I think all that is left to do is to elect the new committee and the reason that wasn't done the other day was becuase the new constitution affects voting rights and I think who can be elected, etc.

Apparently, according to Jo Babic's Presidents Report TBA Ltd are doing a restructure and if the motion for the Constitution is not passed then the changes are going to take place anyway after the National AGM as directed by TBA.

The reason the meeting was delayed by an hour was because it was brought up that the constitution couldn't be changed by those at the AGM therefore those that were present from the board had a quick meeting to disucss the issue and that is what happend for an hour. When we resumed was when the remainder of the meeting was postponed.

I personally think that if they were going to forward a motion such as that to change the constitution then there should have been some more investigation into the motion so that what happened the other day shouldn't have happened. Hopefully they learn from this and don't make the same mistake.

THANKS

DAVID.
