Tasmanian Junior Bowlers excel in Australian Masters

Manila 2009
In a fantastic team effort, seven of Tasmania's top junior bowlers made it through to the final of the Australian Junior Masters.

In the boys division, Adam Triffitt put in a strong performance to finish 9th with Jack Deane & Callen Daly making it one round further in the final to place equal 5th.

In the girls division, Tayla Russell bowling in her first national tournament put in a creditable performane to finish 29th. Sarah Lowney & Kaitlyn Commane both bowled solidly to place equal 9th. Jessica Nicholas showed great character and composure under pressure to defeat West Australian Libby Embury 3 games to 2 in the final. Jessica averaged 186 over 26 games and will now travel to Singapore in June to bowl in the Singapore Junior Championships.

This year was one of our most successful at the Australian Championships and we should be proud of what our juniors accomplished. Below are just some of excellent results achieved :-

Tas Boys Team - 1st Classic Teams
Boys Team - 2nd Royal Rumble

Congratulations to all that did well, but to Jess, a phenomenal effort. You've done Tasmania proud!

I was there and watched the Masters all the way through. Jessica Nicholas was without exception the female bowler of the tournament. She has represented Tasmania with pride and will do Australia well in Singapore. WD to all bowlers at the Nationals.
