Sydneysider Glen Loader leads a strong field of 34 bowlers in the Men’s division at Morwell Tenpin Bowl after the first eight games of qualifying. Glen’s consistent games earned him a 212 average.

Highlight of the day, in the Men’s division, was local bowler Brett Lacey’s 3 game block of 286-233-242 for a 761 series. The 286 game, 10 strikes in a row, was Brett’s highest ever game and his highest 3-game series.

Brett sits in second position on the standing sheet after Day One, a mere 18 pins between the leader. Victorian bowlers Brendan Duthie, Dillan De Mather, David Porto and Craig Ryan fill the next four positions, all averaging over 200.

Current Australian Asian Schools team member Tracey Madden leads the way in the Ladies’ Division. Tracey has averaged 193 for her first 8 games and with a high game of 257. Second position is filled by young Victorian representative Cassie Staudinger, 30 pins back. Victorian representatives Sarah-Jayne Arnold, Debra Bosma, Courtney Murdoch, Katie Arnold and Jessica Ryan fill the next 5 spots.

Play resumed today at 10.00am with the final 8 games of qualifying before the field is cut to the top 10 men and top 10 ladies prior to tomorrow’s matchplay.
