BOWL …..

The Illawarra is a beautiful region on the coast south of Sydney, well known for its beautiful beaches and magnificent scenery, but we also know something about junior tenpin bowling.

On behalf of the Illawarra Junior tenpin committee, I would like to congratulate two of our junior male bowlers Sam Cooley and Scott Johnston for their consistent outstanding performance this year.

Both are neck and neck in leading the 2008 junior male rankings. With one event remaining on the state calendar (Mayfield ) we predict a fantastic event and that all the great NNSW bowlers will be out to stop our boys. Whatever outcome, we feel that junior bowling down on the south coast will be the real winner. Great work guys.

Special mention must also go to Zoe Lawson and Sam Cooley on making the SNSW president shield team again for another year, and to Scott for his back to back National titles.

I can not leave without also congratulating this years Illawarra Junior Open female winner, Chloe Harradine-Hale on her current lead in the girl state rankings. You have many friends down in the gong.

To all our local juniors from Northern bowl, Shellharbour bowl and Strikezone, keep up the good work and remember our annual Bowler of the Year and Award day is scheduled for Sunday Dec 7th.

What counts in sports is not the victory, but the magnificence of the struggle. - Joe Paterno
