It all depends on where you are and what sort of comp - Rachuig with your own team members - totally cool, as a sign of respect to a competitor in the same forum, simply polite if something really good has happened, other than that, well, only for a good carry or tricky spare.
Off the bowling...
Hi Jason!
Not quite a welcome back (yet) but I think it is getting kinda close - my left knee is going to be the telling factor more than anything - it is getting old and rickety like its owner!!
The good news is that the local centre for me (a very close walking distance) is Mentone bowl, so...
Yep - that is what I am afraid of John... Not so much the itch but the additction once back into the game.. Would be far easier to ignore of the local centre wasn't literally inder five minutes walk away...
Thanks Toon, that is the info I was after - I figured Storm was still out there as a widely used "powerhouse" An intersting point to note as well, they appeared to be one of the better sites to do a base analysis of the best fit of their gear.
I know Visionary were starting to make a mark when...
Thanks Roy, I know I didn't give a geat deal of info to go by but your thoughts have helped. I just *know* that if I start again I will want to get a new bag of gear..
Cheers and thanks again!
Been out of the game for about 6 years now... half contemplating getting back into the game. Have some equipment still but know it will need upgrading before too long..
Which ball company is the "leader" out there in the big bad world these days?? What are most of the mid to high range...
This is quite belated but good luck guys, I know how hard it can be to move away from the comfort of a familiar living environment. All the best from down South and if you need a place to stay for any Vic events, PM me and I will do my bes to help out!
Thanks for the kind words Pixie. I enjoyed the brief moments of us bowling together as well! Not too sure if I will be getting back into bowling in Vic. Will just have to take that one as it comes!
Thanks Jason, I will miss all the Canberra crew too - it was always fun having my backside kicked on Tuesday nights :p
Will see what the future holds and whether Melbourne bowling is included.
Thank you Angy and Andrew! Don't ever stop your association with the ACT bowling community. It needs happy enthusiatic people such as yourselves to keep on moving forward to bigger and better things.
I will miss both of your happy smiling faces so very much.
Yep - they made a good offer with regards to money and future career path so yeah - onwards and upwards I guess!
Thanks so much for your friendship, your understanding and basically everything over the last couple of years!
Well the new office is in Melb CBD and where I will be located in respect of living arrangements is still to be determined - still looking for that perfect little place to call my own.
I had planned on heading over to Tuggeranong to visit the couple of leagues that I used to bowl in to say goodbye in person, but time is running short, hence my post on the forum.
Basically I wanted to say cya, bye bye and farewell to all the Canberra bowlers from the Phoenix and Cash Triples...
Hi Broni,
I know how you feel about having to get on and off buses with all that luggage. I have done a bit of very quick research for the price comparisons of taxi's vs hire cars etc.
There will be pros and cons for all options, and I also want to check to make usre the small price...
The taxi service in Canberra certainly isn't what it used to be, but the peak hour problems, you will find are largely as a result of the really crappy traffic arrangements as a result of the roads at the moment. Taxi drivers simply cant make a round trip to and from the airport in the same...
Just a thought, there may be some people aprehensive about nominating because of not being familiar with the fitness requirements as outlined in the forms.
Maybe to assist people with their understanding of the 'beep test' and the scores required, an explanation or a link to an explanation of...
