I remember being paired with David Porto during a tournament about 2 years ago. Unfortunately the challenge in terms of hitting the pocket wasn't present for this event. 4 qualifiers averaged over 240. Every 10 pin (or 7 pin in Porto's case) was followed with the comment "well there goes 21...

Then maybe they should make the trip 2 minutes up the road to Epping and bowl in Melbourne Yth? Mind you the forms for that event probably weren't allowed in the bowl. Still know of a few who went and watched though.

Just looked at the qualifying scores and compared some of the entering averages from qualifying to those used in the "adult classic" event. Some VERY interesting differences. Who polices this? When were the average cut offs for these two events? I will be extremely interested to find out.

Quite incorrect actually, I've enjoyed watching it. People consistently moving and thinking about ball reaction and getting the right shape. An event for the bowling pureist. The bowler who wins today will have earnt it - and will be the best bowler over the weekend. Good to see an event...

Pretty sure it will continue to be that way every third year as well.
