    ECCC Rolloffs

Like to commend the UTBA Committee for having the foresight to implement a sports condition for the ECCC this year. For the first time in a long time (since ECCC was held in centres with wooden lanes), the scoring was as it should be in this event, tough but playable. This will go along...

2010 Schweppes Victorian Sports Series - Event 2

I'll throw my 20 odd year old Urethane Red Hammer in the mix if we have an old one. Only had about 20 lines bowled with it. My 3D Offset might go well too.

    RACHUIG DRAFT

Bigsy The word is correctly pronounced: Rock - way. The event is held at the Nationals each year and consists of a scratch 5 man team event between the States and Territories of Australia and also a New Zealand representative team. Their is both a mens and womens team fielded by each state...

    ECCC Rolloffs

Pete Good to see you back having a go. (Same with you Cam). I suspect the lack of numbers is due to a number of things. The men I put down to the fact you have to nominate which may cause those bowlers who work at the fringe of whether they are open or graded class to forego bowling now...

    ECCC Rolloffs

Just wondering who is venturing out for the East Coast Challenge Cup rolloffs at Sunshine on the weekend. I nominated for Open Men. Be interested to see how many entries in the end in each division.

Which Bowler did you look up to when you started bowling?

Wayne This was back in the times where over here we didn't have urethane balls or very few did. He was bowling at Sunshine and the crowd was fifteen deep. Me the short*** that I am could just see him wielding his craft on the lanes. With only a couple of warm up balls and then into an actual...

Which Bowler did you look up to when you started bowling?

For me there were a few. However as I didn't start bowling until I was 19 I was admiring them as almost peers who were streaks ahead then of even what I am now. Let's see Ian Bradford - late 80's briefly bowled a league at Essendon which bowled just prior to Classic Singles league that Ian...

What do people want to see

Geoff The problem we have is the average bowler is not well enough informed to know what they want or do not want from a National Body. In a simplistic point of view they probably don't want anything except a bit of a return for the $$ they pay each year for registration. This could just...

What do people want to see

Cell It is not that posters to this forum are narrow minded rather that they can't read what is not there. Your post intitially did not convey what you probably intended it too. Now we had people suggesting free practice games which isn't new and in most cases is not going to wash with...

What do people want to see

Cell You raise good points but I did qualify my statement by adding 'in general' rather than making it a strict statement meaning all proprietors. I have to disagree with you however on your lane conditioning comments as just about all centres lay down conditions to encourage bowlers...

What do people want to see

Steve Great to see one of our sports greatest still pushing its virtues to all. There has been a lot of years gone by since we had such a strong tournament scene and unfortunately time and money is what dictates much of our lives these days. Saying that a lot of people have moved on from...

News Flash: Storm Stripped of titles and premiership points!!

Fitzy I agree with you totally as not allowing any points for the whole season is too harsh a penalty to pay. THey are already behind the 8 ball now they have lost all their current points so let them keep any points they acquire from now on. One must not forget that until everything is...

2010 Schweppes Victorian Sports Series - Event 2

Barry From what I saw of the format I beleive you keep bowling until you are the lowest bowler. So there is no sitting out as you have to keep bowling until you are eliminated. Thus in this case I don't agree with you where normally I would as the best bowler on the day is going to end up...

Geoff Lets just say we will believe it when we see it after what has taken place over the last couple of years. I welcome your effort in posting this on an open forum but I still would be concerned whether the people who have stood in the way are finally silenced.

    Worlds Fastest Ball???

Daniel Though there is a great question of accuracy on those cameras I have seen a couple of people who have sent them down at 40km/h plus and that is their normal bowling speed so if they tried to impart more speed then they would push 50km/h+. I would also suggest that Osku's spare...

    2010 Australian Open?????

Firstly I didn't read the entry form. Secondly it is sad that they are tinkering with well established events. Oh well I guess they won't be happy until all of our long running events are gone.

    2010 Australian Open?????

Good decision on choosing the AO for the male reps but I think it is a bit harsh on the women with the VIC 150. With all due respect to the graded women bowlers I believe the ability to represent your country should only depend on your achievement and not also of the luck of the draw on your...

CEO of TBA has moved on. Direct from the TBA website

I know Cara already holds the position of Chairperson but one should not forget the credentials of Cara in both the bowling and business world. The TBA would be smart to offer Cara this role. Whether she is willing or able to accept, is another story, but Cara would definately be my first choice.

    Rachuig.

I'd like to say this and let me be proved wrong: If selection was brought in as the only criteria for representing your state in Rachuig then well Rachuig will be dead and buried just like our national circuit is at the moment. You need to earn your spot not live on past glories. Otherwise...
