I believe AMF have gone with the philosophy that why train staff members when the league bowlers are going to do it for them. After all how much training does it take to take money and tell a social bowler what lane they are on, oh apart from knowing how to type in a person's name of course. Yes...

Would it be right to assume this event is going to be half what it was first outlined as. What I mean to say is now is it based on the 20 current nominations with say a top 8 making the knockout stages with the prizes effectively halved as well.
I'm surprised to see the resistance about what patterns are to be layed. After all it is the tournament promoter who chooses the pattern from the list made available by the TBA.
Now surely they will choose one that will sit all right on their lanes as after all they know their bowling centre...
As a non drinker in general I would not be affected by this that much.
However knowing that a lot of my fellow competitors enjoy a drink while bowling league or maybe before or after then yes this will become an issue.
However saying this I am yet to see a drug tester turn up at my local...
The only problem I see with this is the short time frame for nominations and also the wording with regards to refunds. I don't think there should be any question of whether the promoter gets all their money back just when they get it back.
Now as for only 8 events I think it is a step in the...
Northcote closed due to AMF owning the land and that being against their policy of leasehold rather than freehold premises. Besides they picked up a tidy sum for the site.
Ed Fleming Lanes closed due to the sites owners deciding they wanted to get more out of the return on investment on the...
Though not involved or aware of any thing that has been discussed I believe the 2 associations are having talks that are aimed for a merger once the two can agree to terms that benefit both and take the sport forward here in Melbourne.
I think we should all be congratulating Cara and TBA on a well thought out selection policy that provides the avenue for all who wish to represent this country to do so.
Our two world company elite bowlers Belmo and Frawls are catered for seeing they don't compete here on the national...

Hey Paul is Boronia heaven on earth for lefties? Hang on maybe I'll confirm that after I pick up my Sting from their on the weekend.
Well bowled mate keep up the good work.

I must point out that Mentone took my payment but were submitting all the registrations at the end of the month in bulk so the time I waited probably was right in the end when you take into account transit and workload issues.
I too agree "Never hand over an original receipt unless...
Nice to see you put forward some interesting ideas to help reestablish our sport Michael. I think we need more of our former National reps coming up with ideas like this or at least providing some constructive input.
I like the idea of going with already established events and trying to get...
Like to also congratulate my sister Tracy on her first 700 series at Highpoint on Thursday night.
249 233 221 for 703
looks like buying a house has done the trick to revitalize your bowling. Look out ECCC Open team next year as Tracy is finally ready to step up out of the graded division.
Would have bowled but as I am not available to bowl in a few of the events decided to give them a miss but after this one may decide to bowl a few just for the tough conditions.
Well done on a good first up run of the series John and to those that bowled. Looked like the highway to hell...
