    Back after 6 years

Roysa, there are times when I could almost believe that occasionally your posts are only put out here to cause mischief. Something I would never do.

    Back after 6 years

Jackjack, unless I'm badly misreading what you have said about your previous bowling experience, with 233-211-207 first night back, you either have a talent which will quickly propel you to be the world's top bowler, or there is something seriously wrong with our sport. Like some infectious...

    BOWLING v Tennis

Roysa and amagill are right. Everyone, please leave bowling alone!! Let it die a quiet, peaceful, painless death ( like slipping away silently in one's sleep.) PLEASE- No high speed crashes or anything like that. After all, we can always look back with pleasant memories. Please?

    Another Bowl hits the dust????

The best safety is achieved by people taking responsibility for their own safety, and putting their brain into gear first and foremost as they work -- as opposed to relaxing because someone else has a 'duty' to keep them safe. If you fall off a roof you don't land softer, because the boss should...

    2014 Nationals

Of course it's a 'no-brainer'. Not like other sporting bodies don't do it successfully either - they do, so there are plenty of examples to look at. I suggested it to the ATBC in the early '90s. However we need entrepreneurs not bureaucrats tied to a Government body- ( Institute of Sport )

    Are you a Bowling Geek

I made a promise to myself that I would NOT enter this discussion, but I can't stop myself from saying " good onya Joe!" Bowling used to be, and should still be, a matter of the bowler - purely by his or her own physical skill in moving down the approach, and then releasing the ball in a...

Don't know if I'm getting ahead of the game here, but I'm starting to feel just a wee bit optimistic. You've obviously been doing quite a lot of work, and now there's a bit of curiousity creeping in. There's always more followers than leaders, so get ready for a Peter Brierly fan club ---...

Hi -- Hope the week-end goes well. Re Brenton's post.. Give it some thought, you can be so close to something that you don't see things from a 'no knowledge' persprctive. When explaining - explain what's happening as if you're explaining it at a kindergarten, as what is self-evident to you can...

    8 pins a game.. with a twist

I think he's suggesting that some , additional, emphasis on 'additional', incentives for the 'also rans' may improve the tournament scene?

    Where do you target?

Aiming at dots you need to maintain greater accuracy. ( e.g. I/2board at the dots is much further out at the pins, than 1/2 board out at the arrows ) For years I used dots - 5 or 6 years ago, I changed to arrows. Initially it worked, threw a couple of 290s, and a 289 as part of a 750 series...

    Highest league average in Australia

Sort of fulfills the criteria of a legitimate subject then, I s'pose ? Better look out - we might provoke someone to do something about it ? Nah......that would put the sport's interests above that of the equipment manufacturers. Best we stop talking about it. As an example, I'll start! Just...

    Highest league average in Australia

Makes a difference when a Bowl is run by bowlers, e.g. Emma and Cameron Walsh ( and indeed the rest of the Walsh family putting their shoulders to the wheel.) You're just living in the wrong place, Geoff; move to Ballina and get you're ( bowling ) lifestyle back again. See you soon ???
