    Entry for NSW Open?

Its on the TBA website as alluded to above. Is on the Tenpin City website and will be up on the NSW TBA website too. They are hoping to create a mailing list so anyone who is interested in bowling, can contact Annette and Tenpin City via email, as they will provide updates and so forth leading...

No WA Rachuig Team 2013 - is this really in the best interests of the sport?

This has been a pipe dream of mine for the last decade, still waiting for that lotto win lol

    Do Seniors matter???

Nope, not really, they are like old and wrinkly and stuff and us younger people, well we already know everything. ;-)

    2013 NSW OPEN MENS MASTERS

lol, I can't help it if I am realistic and I know when I do throw a good or bad ball, I used to bowl with better timing with urethanes way back when, reactives and synthetics let you get away with a lot including masking the flaws in your game, I just don't think I should carry every half pocket...

    2013 NSW OPEN MENS MASTERS

Jason, funnily enough I threw the ball really well in QLD, I don't think I have thrown it that well in well over 7-8 years and I scored well. Dave, There are many tournaments on in the middle of the year, May through to July, Mildura, Melbourne Cup, NSW Open not to mention some states have...

8pins start for women, did it work?

Meh, round and round we go, where we'll stop, nobody will know, two tournaments left and then the trial stops, Innisfail and Hobart to go. Lets all revisit it again in September ;)

8pins start for women, did it work?

Thats cool, and I am not disagreeing with you either, just providing some probables as to why, and no, doesn't make it correct, or incorrect either, just an avenue to see if something works for Australian tournament bowling as a whole. And good luck with the meaningful conversations lol. And I...

8pins start for women, did it work?

If you want take another look at it and list the possible pros and cons that people have mentioned so far in the posts before it pretty much comes down to the below: Cons: - Pissing off current fringe male bowlers if they miss the cut or last cash place (argument is based on an individuals...

8pins start for women, did it work?

Pete, most females that enter the open tournaments, certainly have averages well above 200, and so do the majority of male bowlers bowling as well. The main difference is I guess the females that tend to enter, whilst potentially good (and possibly have similar skill levels) still need...

8pins start for women, did it work?

And this is where people aren't understanding that the pattern not so much necessarily is changed to a different pattern, but that each pattern laid will never be the same in different centres. All bowlers should follow that approach, do you really need more than 6 at a WTBA pattern tournament...

8pins start for women, did it work?

Matty, it just isn't smart to lay some patterns down on some lane surfaces, Tokyo was rubbish at Tuggeranong (and from what I heard was difficult at Innisfail due to the lane surface), and it wasn't even about finding an area on the lane to use, it was just unplayable to everyone, there wasn't...

8pins start for women, did it work?

It's not about bashing the TBA, I disagree with a lot of things that happen, however putting posts up here, is almost the equivalent to falling on deaf ears, they rarely have a presence on TB and that is due to TBA bashing over the years, they are in a no win situation, but that is why I guess...

8pins start for women, did it work?

It could certainly be worth a try. Why not, I am all for trying anything that could benefit things, at least you know what does and doesn't work. How many seniors do you think would bowl an open event, that already don't?

8pins start for women, did it work?

This is getting off track of topic post, but the financials for the TBA are usually available via the AGM, when making such statements, collecting registration fees and what not and we should be getting more from it, sorry, but $28 dollars or whatever it is, by probably 20-30 or so thousand...

8pins start for women, did it work?

I think the general gist is probably not so much giving the women 8 pins, but moreso how to attract better tournament numbers. I see not many have replied to Deano's post in the main forum. I would be interested tho in bowling a women's tournament with minus 8 pins, that could be interesting...

8pins start for women, did it work?

Carl and Paul, Guys, what are you? Two years old? I am sorry, I feel I get on well with both of you guys, but some of your posts here are just over the top and highly aggressive, trying to call people out and come to a tournament so you can show them your rage, o_O . The TBA made a decision...

What a difference an OIL PATTERN makes.

Sorry, doesn't matter who a person is, and I respect those that have bowled before me as much as anyone, I do however have no time for people that just want to sit back and stir controversy with comments and offer nothing constructive. Yes everyone is entitled to opinions, but it would certainly...

    Kegel Qld Open results

I agree with Grant, a fabulously run tournament yet again, Mary, Brian and the crew of volunteers ensured the tournament was superbly run all weekend. It has been a long term goal to win a tournament in my home centre, tick!

What a difference an OIL PATTERN makes.

It is a shame that someone with such history in the game only comes to start a post, with a negative comment and without what it would seem to be knowledge on the modern game, nor contribute further. I would suggest getting another hobby of some kind. There was some high scoring on the...

8pins start for women, did it work?

A few or I should say more than a few made comment over the weekend about being able to actually play for some decent prizemoney, I think that will be a big lure and hopefully this helps boost prize funds and tournament entries. Have to see what happens at the next one. The only possible draw...

    Its even tougher.

JP, I don't think you need to have a ditch to make people happy, but laying down some brutal patterns, that also become horrendous due to the house conditions, is not what is needed. Tony is correct in that the majority should be catered for, I am sure there is a middle ground somewhere.

    2013 NSW OPEN MENS MASTERS

I don't think this year was too easy with the pattern Jason lol (did you pick the tongue in cheek comment?). I can say it was fairly open, when I can bowl terrible and on one leg physically and still get away with so much, it was almost a nice departure from the grind of a regular WTBA patterned...

    2013 NSW OPEN MENS MASTERS

Dave, The middle of the year is packed with tournaments, if anything, early and late on the year is usually freer and would have less clashing. You aren't going to win really whenever you hold them, always somebody who doesn't agree or can't attend.
  25. Michael Little

    Its even tougher.

You are right Tony, any tournament won't survive without the 70 percent who most likely go for the chance to not only compete but catch up and share a weekend with friends. Have said a few times now, I honestly can't see why the seniors need to bowl on hard patterns. Doesn't really make any sense.
