What to do when the fire is out?

I'm sure plenty of centers have contemplated it, but it's amounted to nothing due to lack of interest in that particular center.

What would you do if you ran the TBA??

Enforce bowling centers to register each & every single league bowler. Our voice won't be heard when half of our participants don't even register them selves. Also, I totally agree with Wayne on his points. I'm off in the sticks & can still see this happening in our area.

    Other Absolute Power

I was given this ball a few months ago, but didn't know what to do with it. Eventually, I tested a 5 - 3/8's pin with CG on my center grip line, slightly finger weighted. My hope was that I would get a ball which could clear heads, & roll up sharp, but nicely. But I got a lot more than that...

    Lane Master LaneMasters Hornet

I bought my hornet 2 days ago for a country challenge round in a center renowned for dry lanes. I got mine drilled 5 inch, with CG in center of grip. I bowl a slow / medium shot with medium / medium-high revs, PAP of 5 inch across, 1/8th up. We don't lay a THS, but more a heavier crown which...

How a 900global ball is designed and poured

Indeed it does help, thanks. I already knew about lane conditioner movement, & ball motion, but didn't know particularly that polished gear will move more oil down, rather than across compared to a duller ball (I just thought carry down was a given amongst all balls.)

How a 900global ball is designed and poured

Mjmclo, oil doesn't cause a ball to flare. The weight block shifting to a different position is what causes the ball to flare. I've even had a ball flare a little on a ball spinner, when I've had to leave it to attend a machine problem. (I guess that was a more simplified explanation) Thanks...

    League Cancellations

That's pretty silly. Maybe this particular bowling center doesn't fully understand customer relations. That's one way to lose a lot of potential income.

Must have been some mighty ball deflection lolol

How a 900global ball is designed and poured

Pretty interesting, nice to see what a ball actually goes through when its made. I'm not completely sure i understand why they want to make their ball absorb oil so much. As far as I knew, ball flare (aside from the physics of ball motion & its effects) will give the ball 'new' parts of the...

    What got you into bowling

A friend of mine needed a partner in his doubles junior league. At first I said I'd think about it with every intention of not going, but then decided I'd try it for a few reasons being that A:, bowling has actually run through quite a lot of my family, from my parents through to my cousins &...

    Core Splitting

I was under the impression that plugging the crack will only fill it - meanwhile the crack will continue to spread after the plugging has hardened. Would be something to experiment with.

Now this is a great idea.

Nothing wrong with plastic balls. :)

    Core Splitting

depends really. There isn't any telling how far the crack ventures. If it was only small, i would suggest drilling the crack out & plugging it up, then redoing your thumb hole. I guess if you really wanted to go far out, you could drill it out using your largest drill bit at max depth to see how...

    Metallica: Death Magnetic

In my opinion, death magnetic ****'s all over st Anger. Go Metallica! The whole album is magnificent, good to see that they redeemed them selves. Definately in the running for being their best album thus far.

Which brand of ball has most 300's.

I threw mine with lane masters Sure Strike. Like what michael said about rotogrip, for me i just don't feel like the other gear I have tried has given me as good a carry as this brand. (with that said, doesn't necessarily mean it will be the same for everyone either)

What to do when the fire is out?

When someone has lost their passion, more often than not it can be due to lack of reward. Bowling great games & watching flush strikes can only be rewarding for so long before it wears thin. (Unless you're getting paid millions a year for bowling) The sad but true part about bowling in...

Legends Yeah Baby. Great ball to read lanes with.

    Grazed Ball

depending on how deep. It looks like a surface wound, which is easily fixed by resurfacing. If it's deeper than it appears, the ol' super glue trick should work a treat.

    league standings sheets

The non custodial parent would have known the child liked bowling to begin with. To someone who doesn't actually know these children, god knows how many people have the same name, in Australia. You could get some name off the internet, & half the time it won't even be the persons true identity.

    What is your highest game??

289 is my highest sanctioned, along with several 279's/8's. Bowled the big one during practice though.

    league standings sheets

We always have a league standing sheet available at the counter for bowlers to look at whilst they pay their fees, & then they're put onto a league board for everyone to look at during the week. I don't understand why a center wouldn't provide this, sounds a bit silly really.

    Just curious

Wow been a while since i started this topic. I found the cybernetic solutions alternative, seems like quite an attractive asset. But i think we're fine for just a rewiring job. I'm in a situation where I'm not about to fall deaf to a trouble bell. 14 lane center, with resources stretched to...

    Unusual spectator....

We've never had snakes, but plenty of lizards. In fact we have one that lives just outside our b/end entrance, likes to get in under our pit areas. (yummy bugs)

    synthetic pin deck off spots

Nah thats on a wednesday night over 4 leagues. Monday, tuesday & thursdays will have maybe 5 or 6. When you're the only tech with just over 20 hours a week, 14 30's is a lot of work. (especially when my previous head tech did all his own little adjustments & what not)
