Don't know if this has been brought up before but the search function isn't working... I know that intimidation and tactics have been a part of bowling since I can remember but when does this cross the line and become bad sportsmanship? Strangely enough, I find it more prevalent in juniors...

Don't get me wrong, Annette and her crew did a fine job during the junior nationals and presdients shield but surely there are alternatives available to give other states the opportunity to host this event...

I may be totally of the mark here but with the event being held when it was meant that our kids missed the first week back at school. Next year it's 2 weeks they will be missing. I'm not sure if other states are affected (obviously N.S.W isn't) but this might be a consideration...

What's your point? NSW wasn't the only state that drafted bowlers.

Sparing was the key to this pattern (as it is for all patterns) I said to my son Matt that sparing was the between good scores and average scores... Although it was a tough pattern, he learnt heaps and if anything has made him more determined.

I don't disagree Jarrod but I think 10-11:1 is ridiculous. But I don't want to see a 3:1 during league either. Something around 6-8:1 would be fair. It still playable at all levels...

Although it is a tough pattern the Victorian presidents shield team have been practicing on it for 3 months... But for the other 200 juniors I doubt they would have. I have mentioned my thoughts on patterns earlier but the boys and girls who really want that state and national representative...

Thank you for actually reading my post... Not picking on you Michael but there are a few posts that could have been quoted... You won the lottery... As its already been mentioned, the nationals is catering for all grades down to E. But I agree that the ditches centres lay should be banned...

Where is the fun bowling on a ditch... I think nationals should be harder but not 3:1. I've said this elsewhere but I think for juniors a 5 or 6:1 pattern is hard enough for them... 4-5:1 for youth and lower ratios for open tourneys. Build the juniors up gradually and educate them. At least...

Things happen that are even beyond the control of volunteers... Obviously specifics aside, it must have been pretty important to get him to leave . Unfortunately this volunteer was the one who updated the webpage.

Unfortunately I can't see how putting up a 24ml pattern at 41ft in length with a 3:1 on the right and a 4:1 on the left affects the credibility of the sport... Bowling on 11:1 patterns for national ranking points hurts more than this... What would you like to see... A flat wall of oil from edge...

John, I noticed the slight difference with the pattern but really find it hard to beleive that effectively 1ml of oil is responsible for nearly 70 pins. Even conservatively David Porto averaged 240 at KP and 200 at Geelong. I'm sure there are other examples as well along the list that bowled...

Is it possible to have some score updates from both AO and Vic150 please...

It's interesting to note how the pattern scores differently in different centres... Ben.C averaged 177 on this pattern at Geelong bowl and is in the 240's at Keon Park...

Hi Nev, I had a game with a mate in Brisbane strike zone or whatever its called and they don't oil thier lanes... Apparently it's policy to reduce injury if ppl cross the foul line. Made things interesting though...

If only I knew... I was chatting with the president shield boys while my missus was apying for the games... Oh well... you live and learn.

I went to AMF Clayton on Sunday to bowl on the Junior Nationals pattern and it cost $49.50 for my eldest 2 boys and myself to bowl 3 games. ($5.50 per game)

Well done to the winners... Also congratulations to Pat Fahy for bowling a 300 in game 2.

At least if I played golf I'd be guaranteed of getting 200.
