Sportsmanship - what would you do?

I'm shocked this is a question. Try and turn the tables and imagine how you would feel on the receiving end. As a female it is extremely uncomfortable when you are on the receiving end of this kind of treatment especially from a male. I've lost count how many times I've come across this in...

Major Sponsors from the last 20 years

You could look at it this way - look at where you're seeking to allocate the sponsor ie local tournament or one with national coverage, then think about what companies want to get exposure and where. Go from there - I understand westnet was happy to sponsor WA Rachuig 2005 (think) because they...

Low scores and tough pattern at Junior Nationals..... thoughts?

If juniors quit because it was all too hard they were never going to stick with it. Problem with a lot of state bowlers is they are there because mummy and daddy can afford it not always because they're great or love the sport. Problem also is kids are now taught they're all special and...

Getting set to bowl in Perth

If you're north of the river, Brett Marshall operates out of Joondalup and can get most things in for you. If South or towards the hills, Ken Thompson at Cannington is also very good and can get most things in for you. Most of my equipment has been drilled by either Thommo or Brett with no probs.

    Cash league

Why not do a skins tourney on a regular basis if you have willing sponsors who have the money? You might be able to attract more people on a bimonthly basis around existing calendar committments verses the amount of people every week. Not sure if location is a factor. In my case it would be over...

    Novatel Rooty Hill

Perhaps you'd like to try staying at Castle Hill - 40-45 min drive because we were restricted from incurring tolls. Try gathering a bunch of people together bleary eyed and grumpy at around 7ish, for a 40-45 min drive to the bowl for 8am squads, every day. I think I'd rather pay the extra...

    Novatel Rooty Hill

How so George ? I know WA didn't stay there in 2010 and 2011 but what are their rates this year?

    Rooty Hill AGAIN??

I remember doing a Junior Nationals at Melville, south of Perth in the early 90's when I started playing and an adult nationals at Cannington in Perth which must have been around the mid 90's.

    Rooty Hill AGAIN??

As a proud West Australian, Brenton makes a very good point. As a two time Rachuig representative I can say there is a decent cost involved usually a minimum of $1700 and if you want a bit of spends allow up to $2500, I dont know what the other state's player fork out in comparison but imagine...

    Tips for Interstate Tournament travel

Hi everyone I wouldn't mind travelling to the Melbourne Cup in 2012. I know its early to plan things but just wondering where everyone stays? I'm not really familiar with the area. Thanks
