    Game or series ???

I think we are mixing up achievements with watershed moments here. I can relate to Jason - I had exactly the same 'aha' shot (probably with half the revs though) in practise for a skins at Clayfield about 100 years ago - the ball came off my hand, I caught it and just thought 'so THAT'S what...

    Game or series ???

Wouldn't 300 be a clean game, John? It's a funny thing about the scores. I remember 2 years in a row at Redcliffe - the first year the lanes were tough, I made the stepladder in 3rd with a 210 average behind CB and Pablo Kelly. The cut was well under to make matchplay. The following year the...

Why is everyone so depressingly agreeable?

Lucky door prize for half an entry to next year, must be present to win, drawn at presentation. Fixed.

    Pros vs League Bowlers

Fundamentals. The pros let almost every shot go from a stable solid position and post. The league bowlers don't.

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

TBA should split off the Restricted and Seniors from the Open Nats and run them earlier in the year around March-May. Allows time for the bowlers to do both Holt/ATBSO and Nats or Open Nats, centres have a two week and one week event to tender for and allows totally different patterns to be laid...

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

Ok, that works but the link from the TBA website didn't. No change for 2014 though, not one single lower grade bowler was more than 25 under average and most bowled over entering average. Perhaps they are being brainwashed by the complaining from some of the higher grade bowlers whose averages...

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

Financials are all online. TBA have no immediate financial issues and plenty in the bank. They have accomplished this by not spending money on promoting and developing the sport. This is what they need money for. Does trying to get all league bowlers in the country really equate to chasing big...

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

I couldn't resist looking at 2012. Of the total 53 entries in C & D grade, exactly 3 (THREE) juniors averaged below the bottom of the grade cut off across all games bowled. More than half averaged BETTER than the ceiling average for their grade. I know left handers can't count past ten, but really?

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

OK, I looked at 2013 (link to 2014 is broken). Obviously you didn't actually look at the scores. C grade cutoff 110-129 boys 100-119 girls. All Events Boys 10th/18 is 1167, first place 250 over cutoff average. Last averaged over 110, which is the bottom of the average cut. Girls last place shot...

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

C and D grade bowlers can't score on anything. That's why they are in C grade. To suggest that oil patterns are going to affect the scores of <140 average bowlers is optimistic at best. However, that doesn't mean they know or believe that. We have the best bowlers and coaches in Australia there...

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

After wading through the miracle of misdirection and confusion that passes as the TBA website, there were 18 combined male and female C & D grade entries in 2012 and 20 total in 2011. Can't find the 2013 all events scores or any prior to 2011. There is absolutely nothing to attract lower grade...

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

Hey ya go, John: http://tenpin.org.au/fileadmin/user_upload/images/Current_Content/Annual_Reports/2013_TBA_Annual_report_final.pdf About half way down, just before the financials. 2014 there were 290 all events entries plus 97 seniors, some of whom were double-ups with the adults. Of the...

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

2010, 11 & 12 were the years the Masters had $100,000 prize fund.

Why is everyone so depressingly agreeable?

What are they trying to 'slip by you'? The net result for the members is that they save $5 on their membership. As for telling the membership first then putting it to the proprietors, who are the ones actually affected by this, you might want to think that through some more.
