News just in from the organisers of the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup ...
Wroclaw, the city of bridges, in Lower Silesia, Poland, will welcome the world in November when the 48th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup is staged in the Sky Bowling Centre from 24th November to 2nd December 2012.
The centre is part of a larger complex within Fitness Academy group and is located in the Sky Tower. It has 24 brand new lanes with state of the art scoring equipment from QubicaAMF. Our host will be the Fitness Academy group represented by Marek Maciejewski. He commented: “Words cannot express my joy at being chosen to host the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Wroclaw is a beautiful city and I can assure all our guests that a warm Slavic welcome awaits you”.
Anne-Marie Board, QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup Manager, added: “I was immensely impressed with the city of Wroclaw and the Sky Bowling centre when I visited recently. The organising committee is already hard at work and I know this is going to be one of our best events ever.”
Wroclaw (pronounced Vrots-waf) is a very old city, dating back to the 10th century, with a host of medieval buildings and bridges over the river Oder. It is one of the host cities for theEuro 2012 (the 2012 European Football Championships) and will be European City of Culture in 2016. And in 2017 the city will host the World Games, where bowling will also take its place. There are excellent air links to its modern airport from many countries.

Poland first competed in the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in 1996. Their best results have come from Marek Przezpolewski for the men in 2008 when he finished 17th and Daria Pajak for the women who narrowly missed out on the second round last year, finishing 25th. But perhaps the greatest achievement was in 2004 in Singapore when Pawel Bielski hit a perfect game.
