World Women's Championships Mexico

Alex Popov

TBA CEO
Good afternoon

Australia's WWC campaign is underway with the team just completing official practice. The team is relaxed and focussed and are looking forward to the start of competition tomorrow. Team coach Louise Eady and manager Lorraine McLoughlin are very impressed with the way the girls are jelling together. The first sqaud of doubles begins at 9.00am tomorrow Mexican time (15 hours behind Australian eastern time). The pairings will be announced this afternoon.

If anybody wishes to post messages of support, I would be more than pleased to pass them on to the girls.

On a World governing body note, new Presidents were electde to both the WTBA and FIQ. Kevin Dornberger (USA) replaces Heikki Sarso (Finland) as WTBA President, and Jessie Phua (Singapore) replaces Steve Hontiveros (Philippines) as FIQ President. Voting on both occasions was very close.

We will endeavour to keep you updated as best as possible throughout the Championships.

Thank you...Alex Popov

Could you send Nat Shelley and all the other girls our best wishes and goodluck from everyone from Albury...

Cheers Ash
