And Jetsar to Darwin for booking today (Thursday 24th Jan)only $99 from Melbourne each way for May - Arafura Classic

Ian that’s a great price if you’re flying with an overnight bag…BUT I wouldn’t fly Jetstar at all with Bowling balls…I have seen some horror stories regarding excess baggage with Jetstar…Even with the saving on the flight charges after paying excess baggage with them you can normally pay for two return seats with Virgin or Qantas…

Exactly Jase. At least with Virgin your first bowling bag (your largest one) will be classed as 5 kgs towards your 20 kg limit. Then you will be charged at a rate of $10 up to 15 kg over then larger charges afterwards. Be smart and pack wisely and you can maybe just pay $10 each way depending on the bag you use.

With Jetstar there is no sporting allowance so you will be charged for each kilo of luggage so make sure your credit card has a large limit!
