it is with deep regret that i inform the bowling community that Dawn Smith of Nowra, or Dawnie as we all affectionately knew her, passed away last night after a long battle with cancer.

Dawnie had a long passion with bowling starting 30 odd years ago at Blacktown and in recent years at Nowra. her affection and vibrancy for our game was huge, she loved it even to the point where she learnt to bowl left handed after a right wrist injury.

she is survived by her daughter Leanne and 2 granddaughter Mia and Emme, our thoughts are with them all.

Rest in Peace madam president of the pink pussie club, you will always be in our memories

Very sad news to hear - she was a great presence on the lane and will be sorely missed - all the Queanbeyan (now Tuggeranong) team are thinking of her and those she left behind.

Chris and I would like to send our thoughts to Dawn's family. She was always a lovely person and showed wonderful sportsmanship to fellow bowlers. She will be sadly missed.

Annette and Chris Bateup (Queanbeyan team - now Canberrra team)
