Two major problems:
a) Time and cost involved in continuously updating website
b) Privacy Act issues. Can't put peoples names on freely available website without their written consent particularly major issue when children involved.
Unfortunately this is a sign of the times. Potential scenario that may arise - bitter custody dispute involving child - custodial parent has court order preventing other parent contacting child and moved to new area to avoid being located. Child loves bowling and both parents know this. Local bowling centre puts childs name on website including what league they bowl it. Non-custodial parent sees child's name & phones centre to find our when that league is bowling. Next week non-custodial parent arrives and all hell breaks loose. Not a situation any centre or parent would want to be involved in.
Similar situations may also arise due to adult domestic problems when identities need to be kept private.
The Centre, Association and League officials must at all times respect peoples rights to privacy and follow the Privacy Act regarding disclosures.
