Huge congratulations to all the Holt and ATBSO bowlers who went to Perth during 3 weeks in September.
Firstly the Holt women led the medal charge with Gold in the interstate challenge. Congratulations to Pam, Kerry, Rennie, Lillian, Vicki, Cassie and Caroline. The men team placed 3rd in the John Dobson Memorial Tournament. This was the first interstate tournment for many of the team members and should be congratulated for their efforts.
Congratulations also to Vicki Hannam for achieving Team of the Year membership for her bowling during the Holt Challenge.
The ATBSO charge started with the combined Restricted team of Glenn, Lindsay, Neville, Judy, Lyn and Jan comfortably winning Gold with a record margin (won 99.5 points from a possible 126). Special congratulations to Judy Lillie achieving Team of the Year, Lyn Hannam being the highest finishing female and Jan Hill being the most games over average.
Huge congratulations to Betty Johnston for winning the ATBSO Restricted
Masters final.
The ATBSO Open Teams finished with combined Silver with both the mens and womens teams finishing 2nd. Again a job well done to Jeff, Ian, Frosty, Bill, Greig, Tony, Marg, Lyn, Bette, Jill, Cheryl and Shirley. Special congratulations also to Marg Dollman for achieving All Star team membership, Tony Stoppel as runner up Mens Open Masters and Jill Morris as runner up Womens Open Masters.
The final award for the Champion State (combined point score for Open Men, Open Women and Restricted teams) went to ,...... you guessed it South Australia beating Victoria by 3 points !!!!!!!
There was a lot of tired but happy bowlers returning and more excess baggage but we were happy to do so.
Well done to all those who competed and thanks to all those supporters for their support and encouragement over the course of the 3 weeks.
Good luck and high scoring for all those competing in Altona over the next 3 weeks and lets keep the medal count going.
